Yang asked curiously. It wasn't really love just mere infatuation. Well your mom was definitely challenging, until now.

He saw them in the gardens, and headed over to them, "Ah, so you two made it then... Wonderful, aren't you guys busy with I don't know, useless things?" He said with obvious displeasure of their presense. His father frowned, "Come now, we always make time for our son!" His father replied, not seeming to pick up on how the boy didn't really want to see him. "How is being a prefect going?" His mother asked, the boy smiled at her, "A walk in the park" he replied which was mostly accurate since all he did on patrol was walk around the gardens or nap.
