It is very hard for any non japanese people to get their hands on Visual novels because the american video game industry doesn't recognize the appeal of these great games. They are happy with all their FPS's and visual novels don't get any recognition. They really are great games however esspecially if you love simulation esque games. I've played Fate/stay night/ and all the Girlfriend of Steel games plus a few others. These games have great art direction and really are undercredited.

These people need to remember that these are novels created for the story and not for the sex. Many other fan-translated novels don't even have sex scenes. Btw anyone played Kana? It's the perfect example of what I'm talking about. I'm with you on that. Plus the CGs are usually incredible. But.....people either flare the Visual Novels for not having enough sex in them or INCLUDING sex in them. I'd pick stories any day over H-scenes. Geez, if ppl want H-scenes, they should go and watch h****i. |

i've only played narcissu - generally i'm more interested in storylines rather than h-scenes whether its anime, manga or visual novels.
by the way, the mods have made it easier to view visual novel opening videos by sticking them under one section: http://www.crunchyroll.com/showseries?id=6856 |

Wonderful storyline, I'm currently waiting for the second one (the prequel) to be translated. Though I'm pretty confident it won't happen anytime soon. |

If it's got good art, then why not just make a movie instead? |

Because movies needs millions of dollars to make and visual novels dont. Besides Hollywood movie are pretty screwed these days with their lame remakes and poor plot...

I've played a few visual novel games, but not too many. The last one I played was Absolute Obedience (yaoi xD). Most of the visual novel games that I know are licensed are mainly hentai/ecchi games. o_o Ehh. I kind of agree with larryboy. A lot of Americans would rather play more interactive type games. Plus, many visual novels don't have a very good replay value cause once you're done getting all the endings, that's pretty much it. o_o I don't know. I think visual novels are cool. The art is always fun to look at. ^_^
