Not going to happen, though ~ not without a cross-streaming deal with Funimation. DVD royalties are still worth a heap more dollars than streaming rights, and DVD dub royalties worth the most of all, so what Funimation is willing to dangle a DVD dub distribution license for, Funimation gets.

That may not be true. There are several series currently on Crunchyroll that Sentai Filmworks / ADV have licenced for DVD release. Koihime Muso being one of them. Also look at some recent streams. Lucky Star is licenced by Bandai, Bleach & Naruto are though Viz is memory serves. Sora no Otoshimono was licenced, Gundam 00, Neo Angelique, Eureka Seven, Omamori Himari, Hayate, Maburaho, Code Geass, Haruhi, Steel Angel Kurumi, Kurokami, Digimon, Queen's Blade, Saiyuki, and many others.

This is one case: "lots of DVD distributors other than Funimation willing to share streams with Crunchyroll or even, in several cases, themselves use Crunchyroll to stream their titles."

Blassreiter, Ikki Tousen, Linebarrels of Iron, Strike Witches, and Tower of Druaga are all current Funimation licences airing on Cruncyroll. Even some Funi titles are on theanimenetwork.com which was started by ADV I believe.
These are more complicated series, where streaming rights agreements got agreed to before Funimation acquired the title, and so exclusive streaming rights were not available ~ in many cases, license rescues where the original licensor was in money trouble and so had not demanded exclusive electronic distribution rights. But last I heard, there was no anime that Funimation had rights to that was streaming on Crunchyroll courtesy of Funimation. And since Crunchyroll always lists the company that is providing the authority to stream ... we'd see "Funimation" on the publishers page if it was happening.

Point is Crunchyroll has the -possibility- of getting the Index / Railgun series among many others.
I didn't say it was impossible, I said that it is waiting on some kind of cross-streaming deal with Funimation. The fact that Crunchyroll has reached cross-streaming deals with so many other smaller players says that its possible ~ but we can't go counting our chickens until they are hatched for something where Funimation has exclusive English Language rights, because the next anime streaming courtesy of Funimation will be the first.

I'm guessing this means someone is already after the disk rights for it (or has them) in the UK. So the production comitee/ licensee are making it payed only so as to keep those disks worth more; at the request of whoever licensed it (or plans too).
One of the UK anime distribution companies are setting up a social media site ~ so I'm guessing this might be one where a UK firm is going to have free ad-streaming rights or some other form of electronic distribution rights.

Yes! I was really hoping CR would get GOSICK, since it's a TVTokyo show; I love the light novels, and it's the only Winter 2011 show that I'm looking forward to watching; that it's scheduled for 24 episodes is a nice bonus!

Well, Gosick is 24 episodes long, and as it's only available to the UK until 30th June and it begins on 7th January...that basically means, just over a week after it finishes, the series will no longer be available. Being subscription-only anyway, I might have to see if Crunchyroll accept my new card for membership now then =3

Ah, thats why it isn't available in UK region yet, if they only got it for a set period of time and they didn't region filter it to the UK until just before they released ep one that would mean it would be taken down before it finished. Am I right?

Gosick seems the most interesting, but it's the only one I can't watch without a subscripton. Is it worth the money just for 1 series?
