Facts( According to the article posted here): "Further tests will be done to rule out other causes, but the birds suffered from acute physical trauma leading to internal hemorrhage and death. There was no sign of any chronic or infectious disease," the report said, "Karen Rowe, an ornithologist for the game and fish commission, said the incident is not that unusual and is often caused by a lightning strike or high-altitude hail.
A strong storm system moved through the state earlier in the day Friday. Officials also speculated that fireworks shot by New Year's revelers in the area might have caused severe stress in the birds."
"Initial examinations of a few of the dead birds showed trauma. Whether or not this trauma was from the force of hitting the ground when they fell or from something that contacted them in the air, we don't know," she said."

My opinion: Certain events happened by coincidence and the birds happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Yes weird but shit happens. im just going off by what this article is saying, not any other. im not going to sit here a research about this event and try and knock down anybody who thinks otherwise. If they found something and it turns out to be aliens then fine i was wrong big woop but on my first post i was just saying what i felt about those articles because i just felt they were a series of unfortunate events and not some end of the world event. The person that posted this wanted opinions based on this and i gave him mine. End of story.

That happens every day in 3rd world countries and modern countries.
Famine, disease, killings, floods, volcanos, earthquakes, mass murder killings etc etc etc... you get the point.

Giant groups of people don't drop dead from mysterious causes every day.

You didn't get the point.

Nobody cares when there is a perfectly logical reason.

You didn't state anything about people dropping dead from mysterious ways...
But, there is a perfectly logical reason to everything. Obviously not enough research was completed for humans to know what it was when that story was written, but clearly there is a reason to it as some newer posts have added undated information.
It's only the people that are hell bent on believing there is some higher being or source of power controlling everyones fate that go nuts with all the random religious crap when they don't have a reason.

If humans started dropping dead it would be for a reason... some disease or most likely a biological weapon made by one of the asshat Governments that don't listen to the people etc etc.

All in all though, I can see where you are coming from. Most people will only think something is wrong once the human race is affected by randomness.

It was none of those things. The notion that religion is somehow above ridicule is... well ridiculous.
The only difference between me making fun of Jack and the beanstalk, and christianity. Is that people wont stand up in defence of poor jack and his magic beans.

If you feel disrespected or hurt by something as innocent as my initial post. You seriously need to reconsider believing in fairytales, because people will make fun of it. You see, a lot of people don't find christianity or islam for that matter more likely than scientology which is also made fun of and a very regular basis. Yet i only see scientologist up in arms about that.
We fortunately live in a society where we can make fun of all the fables and myths we want. If people just happen to believe in them, well that is not really our fault.
Religion has a more direct and negative impact on my life, than i could ever have on the life of the relgious by making fun of them. So i have a hard time feeling bad.

It is kind of suspicious, birds dying for no apparent reason.
Those "end of the world" lunatics must be getting a kick out of this.

Especially with the Mayan calendar getting close to the end. I'd be surprised if anyone has never heard about that whole thing before. The exact date is December 23, 2012. SAY YOUR PRAYERS! Just kidding.

Screw the rest of your post. It was even more wrong than your other assumptions.

I have a Ph.D. in organic chemistry -- I CAN ASSURE YOU WITH NO SMALL AMOUNT OF SCIENTIFIC AUTHORITY THAT THERE ARE MANY THINGS IN THE REALM OF SCIENCE WHICH DEFY LOGICAL EXPLANATIONS.

Go back to school and start rereading your text books you schmuck, you'll find an endless supply of mysterious phenomenon. Having a cursory understanding of how molecules interact does not explain WHY they exist, or WHY they choose to interact at all. Knowledge of chemical bonds, knowledge of universal forces explains NOTHING except the interaction itself. Finding a man's dead body and diagnosing that he died from blunt force trauma after he leaped off the roof does not explain what motivated him to do it.

Science explains the how, not the "why."

That's why even the most highly educated people on earth are guided by their faith.

That's why they ALWAYS will be.

Because there are NO SCIENTIFIC ANSWERS for the most important questions we could ask.

Haha your Ph.D obviously doesn't give you the brain capacity to know when someone is messing with you.
Don't lose any sleep over it
