Do you think that our generation or new generation is spoiled?

I'm just wandering because im only 13 and i already have these gadgets and things but i saw a kid in 1st grade with a ipod touch, a phone, and a camera. Like seriously why does a first grader need that? =.= just asking would you say we are spoiled? (mainly for people like 15+ but if u younger whatever)

Feel free to lock, report, or close forum if its a duplicate which it might be i didnt check

Fuck yes that both generations are spoiled. And they're spoiled because of psychonut parents that don't know how to teach their kids that if they want something, they gotta earn it.

It makes me sick. And they don't even start working at an early age anymore ether. WTF....ever heard of teaching them the vaule of a dollar?

Most definitely.

Of course it is. I used to babysit a 3-year-old and not only did she have an HD TV in her room, but a Wii and Nintendo DS. Plus a fuck load of Barbie dolls, a dream house and other types of toys that she rarely played with.

Yea... My little sister was 10 when she got her first laptop, and I didn't get a new computer/laptop (was stuck with the same one for 6 years) until I was in 8th grade.

Yes, generations are getting spoiled, and mainly because it's the parent's faults. They "give in" too easily to the child's demands. Of course, I don't mean all parents, I meant some.

This generation is spoiled so badly. Take away their electronics and they will rage like fuck.

I remember when I was little all I had to play with were toy cars. (and a PS1 when I was like 6 or 7)

And now I'm seeing kids at that age have ipods, phones, tvs and game systems.

You can't blame the kids and parents, it's the technology these days which spoils a kid.

They have babies that poop and piss. Back in my day we would buy water babies and poke a hole in it's peewee area so it would piss. Huge mistake, it wouldn't stop pissing.

They have video games and plasma screens. When I was a kid a 15 inch screen was considered HUGE and you were lucky if you owned a Nintendo.

Kids can stay out after school longer since they have a cell phone to keep in contact with their parents. When I was small, I had to be home before sunset and couldn't pass 8 blocks past my school or else I'd get whipped, so they can keep track of where I was and with who.

To be honest with you, if I had a kid. I'd get him or her all the things I didn't have as a child. I used to walk home by myself in the 1st grade. I can't tell you how many times I got lost since I would get distracted. It would have been nice to have a cell to call home. But no, instead I would run around for hours trying to find my way back, then get whipped since I would come home late for getting lost.

I beg to differ here, parents in this day and age don't want to be parents so they look for any quick fix to find out their responsibility of raising their kids. I know some that is personally doing this and i really wish i could do something about it since her kids are already messed up but hey I am a nobody after all lol. I do agree on the technology end somewhat heck we grew up with near the same identical things but what pisses me off is fact that kids throw away anything now instead of getting fixed, because they have the mind set that mommy or daddy will re-place it. Again I am speaking from personal experience on that one, one of my co-workers got a brand new ipod touch "this was few years ago mind you" but still the kid only had it for 2 weeks she couldn't get the thing to work anymore so the kids bright idea was to throw it away. Now if that was my kid I would have beat her ass but again that's me >_>

lol. There's a difference between generations here? I think almost everyone here is the new generation. Spoiled? Yes. The kids' fault? Nope. I find it amusing that children that have barely developed physically or mentally need gadgets they have no use for.

Though now if you were to hit your child you could possibly serve jail time.

ooo. lol. I'm just responding to the OP since they said they were 13 and comparing themselves as mature next to a 7 year old.

damn yes, our generation is spoiled and the next generations in the future will be spoiled as well.
kids these days get cellphones/mp3/laptop/etc so early.
When I was in gr7 mp3 first came into the market, so I got my first mp3 in gr8.Then I got my first cellphone in gr9. And I got my laptop, ipod touch, and new cellphone this year.
So, comparing to me, many kids these days are spoiled and too advanced, but who am I to blame, our society is technology driven.
