No, disliking yaoi does not make you homophobic. It just means you would prefer not to watch japanese cartoons involving two male characters having a relationship with eachother.

No, disliking fanfic pairings that take two clearly heterosexual characters and turning them gay does not make you homophobic, it means you are taking fanfiction way, way too seriously. It's not canon, therefore, it doesn't matter.

No, expressing disagreement with the gay lifestyle does not mean you are homophobic. It just means you are opposed to homosexuality. There is a difference.

Yes, you are homophobic when you go out of your way to mess with a gay person's life by insulting them or discriminating against them just because they are gay.

I wouldn't say so. I have no interest in Yaoi but have friends who are gay. What they do on their own time and who they fall in love with has nothing to do with why i am friends with them. And if i like Yaoi or not has nothing to do with my opinions on gay people. Just because a person doesn't enjoy the idea of two guys getting it on doesn't mean they are homophobic.

Well, I can't watch yaoi, I'm not willingly homophobic, I won't go out of my way to avoid homosexual people, but if they come onto m, yeah, I'm gonna move as far away from that person as I can. Some people have very valid and rational reasons for that fear, I just happen to have some slight control over it, till my limit is pushed. I've actually got two gay friends, first thing I told them, don't ever hit on me, or I swear I'll never speak to you again.

I..like yaoi. I'm not gonna deny. XD It's a guilty pleasure. But serious, if people don't like it, they don't need to. Sides, yaoi practically IS erotica, so people might not like it for that, not cause they're homophobes.

And yes I like foe yay because it's sexy.

o gosh, I can agree with you.
its unrealistic and too many fan girls.
I cant stand it, and im a girl.

I tried watching it once, that DID NOT work out.
I tried yuri once, and I actually liked it better than yaoi. but im straight. ._.

I don't think you would.

I mean I know a gay person but do I hate him/avoid him? no, he's just a person who likes guys.
same thing with Bi-sexuals and Lesbians....I dont hate them or avoid them.
im good friends with some bi-sexuals...

Oh no, that would be a very biased and unfair thing to say. You're only homophobic if you hate homosexuals, not if you dislike gay porn. Hating gay porn is absolutely plausible and totally understandable.

And about the fangirls...will you give it a rest already? So many people swear we like ripping everyone up, but really, most of us aren't even that mad. It's not as common as so many people swear. I mean, you don't hear me bitching about boys who watch hentai 24/7 to the point of hating it, even though there are many more boys who do that, do you?

There is a difference between heterosexual and homophobic.
Of course I don't like to see a gay romance, but I don't have a problem with gays. I just don't want to know about their love life.

Well. It could. I mean, sure just not liking one type of show does not make you homophobic, but I do imagine that some people who also don't like that type of show are homophobic. But it does not make you that way. You already know if you are or not, it's not like some invisible mysterious disease.

HOWEVER. Those that are usually the the most homophobic are usually also the ones who have gay fantasies. It is a defense response, an over-reaction to hide their guilt. Much like if you ask someone if they took something of yours and they get extremely defensive yelling and accusing you of always accusing them of everything.

I have nothing against homosexuals, as long as they're not going at it in my face. I honestly think yaoi fangirls watch it for the pretty face. male homosexuals have been the scapegoats and discriminated for such a long time that people would label u as homophobic if you were against watching homo porn... which I think is really dumb.

It's like not wanting to watch two guys make out. Sure you can be gay I have nothing wrong with it. Does that mean I want to see it?

Same thing with straight couples. Go ahead date each other, but do I want to see you kissing in front of me all the time? No I don't.

like pretty much all of the posts no i dont believe because you dont care for yaoi that your homophobic. if that was the case then people would be labeling me as against lesbians because i dont care for yuri. i like yaoi but im not a rabid fan girl of yaoi i know what draws me into the genre is the emotions of characters in the story just like its the reason i like hetero relationships in shojo or josie stories as well plus the pure escapism the dream of what i wish real relationships were like. for some reason i dont find that kind of draw in yuri i notice that anime/manga fans in general have a huge rabid fanbase for certain things look at the dub vs sub debates that are everywhere too. we all can choose what we like and what we dislike i think the reason there is so many fanfics with hetero chars from anime/manga isnt so much just because some want to see it but more a what if they were after there are so many anime in which the male and female leads hate each other but by the end of the anime their in love with each other.

This argument was a logical fallacy to begin with.
If you like yaoi, then you may be homosexual. However, that doesn't mean disliking it makes you homophobic.
Using the same logic, if you dislike pizza, it means you have a fear of pizza.

Also, I have a feeling this was a troll thread.
