Hi Guys,
Creator of #5 here, thanks for all the votes from the community and being selected by CR staff and given the opportunity to be showcased. In regards to several comments on my film, below.
I know some users believed it vile to have an older content being chosen but honestly in this industry - if you're not one of the people who invested their blood and sweat into creating an animation and know how much hard work was involved, you'd see how many independent and commercial film makers promote their films over the years.
The industry as of right now for 2D artists, isn't that great - at most you'll be stuck as an intern and or people looking for 3+ years of experience and then your trying to balance the profit/experience scale to pay off your loans and or starve and get experience. Currently I am working in a regular job that pays decently well and have not been doing any animation related activities as of late(9 to 6 and OT?) - however when I submitted my film to CR last year, I promised myself that I'd get back into the game and start animating once more if I got in.
As for the unruly fan fanatics of the other videos(all wonderful) there is really no need to attack the videos of others, there is a fine line to constructive criticism and out right attacking. For those who were honest and judged unbiased, thank you and continue to support Crunchyroll.
"
Your original content can be about anime, dramas or anything pertaining to Asian culture, music, food and so forth. The parameters are endless as long as it pertains to Asian Entertainment and/or Culture!" quoting shinji here, first off I'd like to say this - The first anime I've ever watched was Trigun, which a friend lent me on vhs tape - I finished that show in 1 sitting about a decade ago? From then on, I've been a huge fan of anime and how it was created. I would be lying if I said my film was not influenced with some American elements but it would be wrong to label it purely American. Also I recommend everyone to read up on Osamu Tezuka who was a huge Disney fan.
Oh and to put it out there, vending machines of all types is part of Japanese culture, and I find myself silly - needing to defend my film on this point, especially since all content submitted to CR has been filtered through CR staff.
Honestly since there was no set voting policy, I really do hope that CR staff will be able to provide a fair result on Monday.
Since I already saw a couple of the creators vote for themselves - I call it only fair to vote for myself as well
