Same here. I think it is the slow pace of it that made it easier for me. A lot of shows I like have up beat fast openings and I would get tongue-tied if I tried to say them all out, but Neon Genesis is the first and only one I can confidently say.

While I haven't memorized the full song, Death Note is the closest to being the first anime song I full remember.
