I wasn't really impressed with the first episode, and now that I can't even continue the series thanks to the FPC being idiots, I will drop this one. One can't really give a good review after only one episode.

Then ehm.... stream it somewhere else :P
When the FPC are such idiots they don`t deserve anything better!

No, I am droppng it altogether. I don't do streaming on an illegal site, that would defeat the purpose of what Funimation was trying to do before FPC decided to be idiots.

Although I was tempted to break my 7 month no fansub streak just out of spite of the FPC's action, I decided not to. As such, however, I could totally understand other people that do not normally watch fansubs doing so for Fractale.

I think I have done the same thing as you, I haven't touched a fansub in that long.

I usually watch simulcasts or shows that are licensed and are available for online viewing.

Yes. I am not saying I am swearing off fansubs forever, but it is my intention to give a reasonable amount of time for a legal source to arise. At this point, however, I am still debating what "reasonable" is; a year, two years, five years, or more?

This originally started when in August of last year I realized the last fansub I had watched was in early June. The quantity of legit material available to javascript:void(0)was occupying my time to such an extent I simply had not sought any out. Couple that with the fact that I have a policy of rewatching anything I have seen via fansub via legitimate means once it becomes available, and stopping watching fansubs was much easier to arrive at. After all, I am not much for rewatching. While watching Funimation's uncensored version of both Rosario+Vampire series was enjoyable, I can't say the same about Kiddy Girl-and.

That isn't to say that there are not temptations. I am rather disappointed that Funimation has no simulcast of Index II, for example, and will probably not license it for DVD until they see the sales of the first series later this year. I have faith, however, that there will be a legitimate source, even if I have to wait another 2 years.

Frankly, the number of older titles that CR and TAN have added that were previously available only as fansubs is encouraging. Even if a series' production committee is averse to simulcasting, they may be open to streaming a year or so later, after media sales in Japan have died down, and licensing in other regions has not come forth.

For me, the ultimate test of my resolve would be if a new Nanoha series was aired, but no simulcast or DVD license was evident.

Episode 2.

Well Nessa is definitely the cutest Loli this anime season hands down.

And Im just going to take a guess here. But I bet the brother wants Phyrne as a sex doll or something. I feel like the anime had Claine talk about Sex Dolls and the brother commenting on how much better it is for you to touch something for a reason.

It would probably also explain why his sister hates ecchi stuff....since she has a brother complex for him and he just wants a sex doll.

My 2 cents.

Anyway this anime is quite interesting.

Oh and I think Nessa has the ability to start up things. Like electricity or something....like she literally is a power supplier.

And Im not sure on how Nessa suddenly went back to Claine after he made that wish......and Im pretty sure Claine wont even bring up how she got to him so fast in the next episode....since they are captured....but here is my guess.

Im guessing that Nessa is somehow connected to the entire world....and can freely move anywhere she wants....and the wish that Claine made.....A.K.A. the Data that he sent.....went straight to Nessa and she warped there or something.

But this episode still raises probably the biggest question. How come Claine couldnt touch Nessa during that short period of time?

My guess is that you have to care for the person or be happy with them in order to touch them. Which is why that when Claine said she was scary....he couldnt touch her anymore.

I am not 100% sure other people can see Nessa.

Doppels certainly can but none of the real people seemed to acknowledge her. Even the police officer seemed a little confused when Clain was trying to turn her over.

I'm still hoping and waiting for the legal stream to return, so I haven't seen Episode 2.

But here's some information I gathered from ANN's forum discussion of Fractale.

- Nessa is invisible to everyone else.
- When she was in the security room, and the camera took the guard's view, she looked like a pendant lying on the floor.
- The people on the caravan blamed the boy but didn't notice her.
- She seems to affect the doppels or electronics.

I haven't seen episode 2 but I will before this day is over. I gave Greylurker's comment a little thought and maybe the owner/wearer of the pin he was given are able to see her. Phryne could see her and we couldn't but now that Claine has it maybe we are able to see her too. I glanced at a scene earlier and maybe he triggered the treasure chest trap himself chasing someone Team Rocket couldn't see anyway. Well, it's all conjecture anyway.

I liked episode 1 and plan to continue watching this series to see where it goes. I don't go to the Funimation site to watch it though...Funimation sends alot of their popular animes to Hulu to host as well, so I end up watching it there. I had no issues with sound quality.
Episode 2 is supposed to be aired on Jan. 24th on Hulu, if you want to wait for it to be posted there (I do, just because I prefer not to get a virus or malware from some of these off the wall sites).
