Everything about it looks great, music, direction, voice acting. But it starts off in the middle of the manga. The emotional scenes in the first episode are not emotional at all, fluffy piano music has no meaning to the story becuase we are not familar to the chracters.

HENCE DONT START OFF THE ANIME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MANGA. they try to attempt to cover 40 or so chapters in 15 mins.

Outrage. Hope it gets better.

yes it was really confusing because they mention alot of things that people who are unfamiliar with the manga don't understand without the back story. it leaves the viewer detached from everything, it seemed like one long commercial ABOUT an upcoming anime versus an actual episode. The art is lovely, but the story so far leaves everyone wondering what they just watched. :[ hope it gets better with the next ep.

Copy-pasta from my ANN forum post:

Haven't found anything confusing yet, but I heard people complain about the way it started (compressing 40 manga chapters into 15 minutes.) Though I haven't read the manga, I actually like this start.

Episode 1:

I'm really loving this atm, I already sense a lot of drama going on and I can see the troubles the characters are facing. The music was great, giving off a calm mood to the viewers. And I really like how each character interacts so far, mainly the dialogue between the friends. I found the self introduction scene to be the most powerful part of the episode, revealing the tension between the characters. I'm going to say this probably has the best start out of all the Winter 2011 animes that aired so far.

hiya asuracrin

i dissagree its terrible for people who have read the manga.

the troubles the chracters have would have so much more meaning if they started from the start of the anime so you can identify what they've been through.

its a good show show so far if you havent read the manga if you have well... its annoying..

but it look to be my favourite of winter 2011 mainly becuase its not moe and shonen crap.

well there are some cute girls or boys in the series that is usually what moe means, moe is not genre, buy how a character looks or acts

Really? I loved it. I get the feeling that they will return to past events in the following episodes.

I've seen quite a few people's reactions on various forums, and they seem to be ranging from thoroughly impressed to disappointed. I'll have a look at it in a while and confirm my opinions then.

I can't believe they skipped ahead 40 chapters! No wonder I was confused! But I think it seems like a sweet heartfelt story so I will keep watching. I love the soft art style too and the music was beautiful

Seemed okay to me. Yes, one can sense there's a back story. but guess what? every story has a past.

I found the characters interesting and complex and very real.

I didnt quite get who confessed to who though and who broke up first.

I saw a scene where the main female lead put both of her hands on the male leads shoulders....so it made it seem like she confessed to him.

But then I think it had the male leads voice when it was talking about who confessed to who.....so Im not even sure really.
