If you like, I can ban your account for you. A lot of people request bans for a period of time so they can't go on.

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide is what I think you meant, but that seems to be a hard nuke. I know for a fact that there is a soft nuke option that the mods can use, I am not sure who said there wasn't. The point of asking to be banned or using a soft nuke is that it can be undone, rather than a hard nuke which is permanent.

Personally, if the mods DO decide to utilize this, it should be restricted to paying members only as people nuke accounts as often as they use the bathroom on this site. Non paying members shouldn't really have to be asking for 'temporary bans', etc.

You are talking about 'going on hiatus' then? Because users have been using doing a 'temp ban' to themselves for S-ome time now. But, either or..There is already a 'temp ban' option. Which is simply putting 'hiatus' on your profile, header is most preferred method for me. But, a banning is reserved for people which have broken a rule. If I read ' banned ' on a persons profile, I will most likely think 'they broke a rule' and not anything else, unless they are a moderator of the site. I am a free member, and I still love crunchyroll. But, banning is a method for the moderators of the site, not the users. If you are talking about 'hiatus' or 'closing a account' then I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But, users have already been doing these methods for sometime now. You will see it mostly in the header though, from my experience anyway. But, either or...yeah
