After having starred in 25 movies, actor Shintarô Katsu returns for the ultimate Zatoichi story. Featuring Shintarô Katsu's farewell appearance as the iconic swordsman and considered to be the culmination of Katsu’s career, this thrilling martial arts epic (written and directed by Katsu as well) finds nomadic hero Zatôichi in the middle of a bloody turf war between two rival Yakuza clans.



Shintarô Katsu's Zatôichi: The Blind Swordsman is a blood-stained epic that shows the frailties of a man at odds with the Bushido Code.

Now much older and still a wandering loner, the blind, peace-loving masseur Ichi (or, in Japanese, Zato Ichi) seeks a quiet life among the gentle people of Edo Period villages, but when he's caught in a power struggle between rival Yakuza clans, his reputation as a deadly defender of the innocent precedes him, and he's forced to fend for himself in a series of sword-wielding showdowns. Zatôichi is once again forced to wield his sword in defense of those who cannot defend themselves.
