Do you dress like your favorite character? Eat dango because you saw it on an anime and wanted to try it? This is a thread devoted purely for the discussion and display of your fandom and how you're a part of it. Go for it!

If I had the chance (and a debit card), I would be buying the DVD's of my 'favorite' animes. If there's a legal stream of it, I support* it by watching the legal stream.

*If you count support as showing appreciation.

Yah, I got on a little dango obsession after watching Clannad. And I took an interest in psychology after watching NHK xD

What, no sudden need to be taking up baking, wearing cosplay, or adding desu to the end of every sentence?

I buy the dvd's. I know I will watch them over and over again if the anime was one of my favorites.

I will buy the dvd or blu ray, and manga. No bootlegs. Support sites like crunchyroll. Sometimes I'll buy the soundtracks, art books, trading cards and toys. I also buy original materials from my favorite anime, like animation cells or character designs and post them on my photobucket page. I have link to my photobucket page on my user page.

I'm probably spending more of my free time than I should on Crunchyroll and similar legal streaming sites! I also buy the official licensed DVDs of series/movies I particularly like, often a PVC figure or two (or more...), and sometimes art books or guide books. Next time I go to Japan, I'll probably try to swing by the Washinomiya Shrine (model for the Hiiragi family shrine, from Lucky Star) or Konata's house (supposedly there is such a place), or try to find sites from the Suzumiya Haruhi series, if they're not too out-of-the-way or off-limits. It'd be a fun little adventure.

Hmm, well besides buying DVDs and manga of my favorite series, I did cosplay this past halloween as Ciel Phantomhive. I'm definitely inspired by his fashion now. And whenever I see someone baking sweets, I suddenly get the urge to do that too. I'm kinda afraid to watch Yumeiro Patisserie, I might sign up for dessert classes or something

Heh, did you go in the suit, or the Ciel dressed as a girl approach? That would have been hilarious, a girl dressed as a guy dressed as a girl. Do you have a pic? What fashion changes, and what sweets? Tiny cakes or something? Just curious.

Apparently most people buy the books/disks and occasionally merchandise, but have never learned to play a theme on an instrument, worn clothes similar to their favorite character, or done crafts related to their fandom (ei made their own half gloves, cat ears, drawn their own avatar, etc) Cat ears, for instance, are so easy to make. If any one wants a pattern let me know.

I was dressed as a boy... shorts, knee socks, boots, vest, white shirt, the ribbon tie. I already had a long blue coat so I wore that as well. I had to buy the eyepatch, wig, and walking cane. It was a lot of fun! I mostly bake cakes and cookies. Haven't tried those cute little desserts or tarts yet, but I probably will! Ooh, I'd like the cat ear pattern :)

So what about you, do you dress as your favorite characters or have you cosplayed before?
