I rarely eat fast food. Only when there is no food in the house or my mum was too lazy to cook anything.

As much as I love fast food, I can never eat more than 2 meals a week, it just grosses me out, no matter how tasty it is. I'm no where near overweight by the way. Because my mom's strict on fast food, I usually eat them once a month, at most.

I am, unfortunately. I'm on a tight budget right now, so it's unavoidable. I hope to rectify that and start eating healthy though

I use to but then after college I was exercizing as much and was gaining weight. I switched off fast food and after the last few years found I only have a craving every so often. Like I had a Wendy's burger last month sometime and haven't had fast food since but I'll being w/ my friends for the Superbowl and I know pizza will be there so that'll probably be my fast foo food for this month.

When I was working, I would eat fast-food every day...sometimes twice a day. And I skipped breakfast. And I didn't excercise. And my job was desk bound. So yeah, I packed on the pounds super fast - in fact about 60 lbs in 3.5 years.
I was already heavier to start with, but I became morbidly obese.
It is amazing what your body can adjust to though...at 290 lbs, I could still walk a mile in 15 mins...but the pain and the swelling I would get from a simple walk or housework was starting to become unbearable. And I wanted to make sure I didn't get Diabetes, Hypertension, or other diseases that can come from being overweight.
So, since my work had a fridge, I started shopping at the store once a week for all my lunches and stored food there. I started Weight Watchers, but only managed to lose 20-30 lbs both times I attempted it. And I gained it all back. The program does work, and I am an advocate for them, it just didn't work for me (and from what my doctor said is best suited to people who only need to lose up to 50 lbs).
Add the bad eating habits and no excercise to the fact that I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (which causes an insulin intolerance and an increased amount of fat retention), and there was no choice for me to lose weight quickly except by medical assistance.

I had Lap Band Surgery 9 months ago and have lost almost 80 lbs. But the surgery only gives you a tool to lose the weight, it can't make the dietary changes and lifestyle changes for you. If you don't have conviction to change, it would not be a good option. I am aiming at losing another 20 lbs in the next few months. That would put me at 188...still larger then I should be at 5'5", but so much safer a weight then my starting weight which was 288 lbs.
So now, since the surgery, I am limited to what types of food I can have. Since I can't have bread, I can't really eat burgers from McD's. Actually the only thing I ever get from McDonald's anymore is a 4 pack of chicken nuggets...and that fills me up.
I probably eat fast food once every couple weeks. However, I do eat out at a sit down restaurant at least once a week - Chinese food is my weakness. But I can't have the rice. I also can't have pasta, so most Italian restaurants are out for me.
And no sodas, ever again. I can't have any carbonated beverages, period. And to be honest, I don't really miss them - except maybe that A&W Root Beer Float that calls my name every once in awhile.

Seriously though, food isn't necessarily the bad guy. And while fast food is seriously high in saturated fats, cholesterol and sodium, check some of those microwave dinners you are fixing too...you will never look at Marie Calendar's Chicken Pot Pie quite the same way again, I can guarentee it. Excercise is key to maintaining your fitness no matter what you eat. And I have seen a plump vegetarian before, so they are not immune.
Anyways, I so went off topic. Yikes!
