Quality product availability is pretty subjective since some brands go up in quality as well. It depends on what is popular according to politics, economy, fashion, etc. There's a reason why McDonald's, Walmart, and dollar stores have made stock gains during the recession. Plus, the world is getting bigger with greater demand than ever before. You'll have to look into specialty businesses for specific types and qualities the same way one might go to a whole foods or organic market.

I also am not too concerned about excessive quality on shoes or some other items unless it's a clear ripoff. We are complaining about our fashion products losing some quality while we collect them. While other people are walking around barefoot or in rubber made shoes.

the fall in quality is a tiny issue, which alludes to the biggest issue of all. I'll admit to inadvertently missing the bigger points: there are people straving due to unequal food distribution on a global scale and there are people walking around with no shoes or colthes. I just thought it be easier to start with small things. it makes no sense for a country to have such a high number of middle class and have a small group of people own over half of it. I think what i'm trying to say is in order to tackle these global issues some countries more than others need to get their own ish together first. in addition I would like to thank all of you that responded and left your comments.
