But seriously though, I liken him to a Disney star, a passing fad. He's not all that good looking, he's not all that skilled, not sure what the fanatic love is about, and I do "get" why people don't like him, though I think talking about how much you hate something/someone for more than five minutes makes it a little odd.
I imagine him being like the female version of Taylor Swift. Too bad it seems no one really gets famous by actual skill in music anymore. (Feel free to go "Hey that's not true, so and so..." I'm just feeling cynical about the current state and future of music.)

I think he's cute, and his songs are catchy, his voice is pretty good too, but it annoys me sometimes.
I do think that he is seriously overrated. I don't even think he's even that talented. He doesn't write his own songs, and even if he does, he writes it with at least 3 other people, and they're just lyrics. He makes it seem like he's so good at skateboarding, dancing, sports, playing the guitar and drums. He's decent at those stuff though, I will admit. But his goddamn fangirls think that he's amazing at everything, but he's not. I like his music, but I have no respect for him as an artist, I think he's a poser. And no, I'm not jealous.

so you're defending someone that has no respect towards the guy and supports him. Well clearly you're just as a hater himself. And the word "fag" did not change. "fag" will always be a slur for homosexuals. Unless you have solid proof it changed

I'm not entirely sure what you're saying, your wording is a bit unclear. Yes, fag CAN be a slur towards homosexuals, but what I am saying is that "homosexual" is not always what a person intends to convey when they say the word as an insult. I do not need proof that the English language is living and fluid and always adding, deleting, modifying, and that includes slang, idioms, and curses or insults. I'm not really defending anyone; I just want people to think about what they say and use logic. For the record, I don't care enough about Justin Bieber to be a "hater" as you've put it.

Actually the term fag originally meant cigarette in Britain. It's and idiom if I remember correctly. It's just used in a negative reflection today, just like faggot and queer. Doesn't make it right though.
