Windows 8 "Metro"

Working for Microsoft, I'm a little biased.

Wait, Windows 8 "Metro" is unable to handle a normal website? That seems a bit broken.

My understanding is the "Metro" version of IE 10 in Windows 8 does not allow plug-ins, which means no Flash.

Windows 8 still contains a normal "desktop" version of IE 10, however, which does allow plug-ins. There are still Firefox, Chrome, etc. as alternatives well, and I expect there will be "Metro" variants of these, so I don't see much reason for CR to spend a lot of development time for a Windows 8 Metro app at this time.

That said, the ARM version of Windows 8 will apparently offer only the Metro interface, so that would need an app. Until there is some idea of how popular such devices will be there is little reason to spend development time on them.

Well, the post said Metro, not "the crippled Metro version of the IE explorer", so unless Metro is not going to permit a flash plugin for Firefox or Chrome, the fact that the Metro version of IE is crippled only means that Crunchyroll will get to host Firefox and Chrome linkthroughs when it detects that the Metro version of IE is being used ~ and hopefully will get to be paid for those linkthroughs.

Windows 8 uses apps, right? So a Crunchyroll app for windows would work. Set it up like my android app and let the Anime roll!

I really really would love to have an xbox app. Being able to use the xbox party feature with my friends that are also crunchyroll subscribers would make the viewing experience that much better.

Add me to the Windows Phone list.
Seems to make sense, anyway. Write for windows phone, run on windows 8. How could you not make that choice?

Another vote for XBox 360.

I just want to point out that this is not true, Windows 8 handles every website, having an app is just faster.

It was tessarius who claimed Windows 8 "Metro" is crippled. I was expressing skepticism about the claim.

Apple TV 2/3
PS3 Native app
Xbox 360

Also, fix the iOS app. When using an iPhone 4 and the composite out cable ... if I hit the DONE button the applies to a black screen on the device and I am forced to restart the app.
