What phases have you been through?
Posted 2/1/11
Ok so we all have phases growing up, be it Goth or just something you get addicted to but then just forget about it.

My phases:

Aged 13 I was like a semi-Goth its so embarrassing! I still like heavy metal and all that but I don't dress that way anymore and I've only kept a small majority of my piercings, my ears and my tongue bar. It was nothing hardcore it was just black clothes and too many holes in my skin.

Aged 8-15 was my "I want to be a figure skater" phase but I just gave up after hitting the ice pretty damn hard, got a nice skill out of it though

Aged 16: "I want a tattoo I must have one" phase, thank fuck I never did get the one I planned to get -__- ugh! I would have been £3,000 short because of laser surgery by now....

What were your phases?

when I was tween I used too be in the "Im so ugly and nobody likes me =C" stage 8'D it only lasted for a month thank god x'D

through out my childhood too high school I was a hardcore and rebellious tomboy lol I called it the "rebelling Princess stage" I was raised very girly, and I pretty much got sick of it too death x'D I hated that none of the guys would let me do anything with them because they all thought I couldnt do it the more I got treated like a girly girl the more rebelled

I've been a goth, a rebel, a prep, an old lady, a rocker, a 1960s British music artist, a ghetto black girl, a chola, Sacagawea, you name it.

I went to private school so the only real option that I had to choose from was "ghetto" because all the other stereotypes place more of an emphasis on the look.

Most of these were things that I "thought" I were rather than what I really was, so in my head I thought I was insanely awesome but in reality I was just an embarrassment.

There was a tomboy phase, rocker, goth, gangster-ish.. don't quite know what to call it, I really wanted to be emo for some reason and I had convinced myself that I was for some time. For a certain period in high school I had wanted lots of tattoos and a helluva lot of piercings but thankfully that phase is over because I would have regretted it now; my taste in music also changed over the years to fit the certain style I was imitating.

Nowadays I just dress like a bum.

The only phase that I went through was the tomboy phase. Those were the good ol' days. I was a tomboy up until 7th grade. It wasn't like a drastic change though, unlike most girls, I slowly became more girly. But, I'm still a tomboy at heart, I still dress sporty sometimes.

Man, I don't get it, even in the age of the internets young people tend to fall into those Goebbels-style pre-programmed behavior patterns. Playing the role. You even have your pre-defined 'names' for it and it doesn't bother you at all. Seriously. If you're honestly embarrassed, why you even mention it?

Besides the street lingo I used to say, the things I do aren't a phase actually. I still do them today.

I had a tomboyish phase about 10-15 but then puberty struck and I was like "Hello sexy rack meow!" and embraced being a fine young lady.

-__- ugh there is always one. So you're 27 and you've never had a phase? How odd. Why mention it? Because its good to look back and its an interesting discussion so far, we're not all socially inept.
