Chinese New Year: February 3, 2011

Does anyone here celebrate Chinese New Year? It's the year of the hare! There's usually a festival downtown that I go to that has dragon dances and food.

If you didn't know here's a list of the countries that celebrate it:
1. China
2. Taiwan
3. Hong Kong
4. Singapore
5. Malaysia
6. Vietnam
7. Korea

Although Japan hasn't been celebrating the last few decades...

Yeah, Canada doesn't celebrate Chinese New Year, so I guess all the Chinese here are celebrating by themselves. We will probably have a feast at home or go out to catch a movie or something. No angbao though!

FYI, angbao is what you called 'Red packet' in English, which contains cash inside. Yes, CASH.

O____O Do we get a public holiday too?! Is there classes on that day? Woohoo, this makes me so excited. Thanks for telling me love, how are you going to celebrate it? By the way, a 'Chinese New Year' joke is on your way!

On Chinese New Year eve, a Chinese man went to a hospital to get a surgery for his right ear since he had trouble with hearing. The operation was a success, and the man managed to get his hear replaced. Guess what did the surgeon say?
