What is the standard for album titles?

Because this is an English-oriented site, I suggest that for anime which has been released with an English title, the official English title be preferred.

If we want to list several titles, I suggest a format of a slash (/) followed by the secondary titles, such as the Japanese name. Instead of using parentheses, this format allows several alternatives. This helps people who may be searching for the original name.

If there is no official English name, or a nickname which is not in the title has become popular, that name could also be listed. As the standard for popularity, I suggest that the nickname be shown as such in the first paragraph of the anime's Wikipedia article. This will help people use browser searching to find the album on the list-of-albums page.

We have one interesting example: Squid Girl.

Shinryaku! Ika Musume is the present name of the album. There is no English DVE licensing yet, so no official translation of the title. Crunchyroll is showing it through a streaming license, and has chosen "Squid Girl" as the name. At present we can assume that the streaming name is official, and rename the album as Squid Girl / Shinryaku! Ika Musume. When it appears on DVD then we deal with that name... if "Squid Girl" is part of the title then maybe we just use the new title instead of the current "Squid Girl" part of the album name.

I think that only moderators can create albums, but this discussion involves how users find the albums so comments from everyone are invited.

Well, we didn't really issue a naming scheme to the albums at first, but the 'AKA' idea seems good. You're a mod now so, you have the right to add some better search terms since we can't arrange the albums in alphabetical order, # of raws, etc.

Looks like a slash is not a good idea, because the path breadcrumbs use a slash.

Is the vertical bar (pipe) symbol "|" allowed in an Album name?

I'm avoiding commas because I think I've seen commas in some titles.

Or we might use a slash but wrap parentheses around all but the first name.
For purposes of illustration, if Ika's show got an official English name, it might be listed here as:
Ocean Protector Ika ( Squid Girl / Shinryaku! Ika Musume )

I`ll create the folders with the name the anime is most known as, mostly that is the japanese one.
Like with Kimi ni Todoke, most people know that one by it`s japanese name and not From me to You.
Or like you suggested, put in /, like how I did with Eden of the East.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, but since there was added so much new folders (most of them empty) it became really hard for me to find the folders of the shows which raws i'd like to use, so i was wondering if there is some search system or something like that what would make it easier to find those folders. Thank you.

Most of the folders are in alphabetical order so, I don't see how it's difficult to search for them. Or you can just use you browsers' find function(Mozilla has Ctrl+F).
