When I was 16, I started to read manga and watch anime. It was very difficult to get any series because the internet didn't exist yet and local shops didn't sell anything outside US comics so you had to order the stuff in Japan. Problem too was that it was in Japanese, fansubs didn't exist! My first series was a dubbed version of Macross/Robotech that I watched first to last episode in one go. Anyway, I'm 27 years down the road now and moved from cold Holland to warm Singapore. I have a wife and a 1 year old son but still find myself watching more anime than ever. So I wonder, will there be an age that you don't watch anime anymore? I doubt it myself just as I will still be playing computer games but I do notice that the average age on the forums here is young

I started watching anime when I was 13. 7 years later I'm still watching now more than ever. I love anime and I can't see myself ever stop loving it. Anime has made me into the person I am now. I've learned many lessons and it even motivates me. So yeah I will keep on watching anime. My family makes fun of me but I don't care. Anime rocks!!!

I feel the same way, anime becomes a part of who you are and I know there will never be a point in which I will want to stop watching anime. I'm the only person I know who watches as much anime as I do and my family doesn't quite understand what anime is all about, but that doesn't bother me. In fact, it makes me enjoy it even more. For most people, anime is just a fad or weird interest, but for true anime admirers it becomes something that is really unique, fun and worthwhile.

I started watching anime (pokemon) when I was like 6-7 years old. I used to wake up like at 7 in the morning every Saturday to make sure that I don't miss an episode. Now I'll be turning at the end of this month. If anything I've been watching anime even more now than I was when I was a young child.

I've got a 12 year old nephew who doesn't know much about anime now, but I'll get him hooked on it somehow, ha!

Like others have said, I'm watching more anime now than ever before, I used to go through anime binges which would end with me not watching any anime for months (i think i went a full year one time, or damn near it), but now it's pretty much daily I watch at least a couple episodes, most days quite a few. I don't see myself ever stopping, I find it far more entertaining than 99.9% of what's on tv in the US.

15 years iv'e been watching anime. Cant get enough, even more so now with all these new series coming out. As long as they keep making good series, I will keep watching them.

And I highly agree with Altairian, even the t.v. shows that seem to be good in the US only last for maybe 2 seasons before they are canceled. There is almost no point in watching t.v. any more. XD

Yeah, I used to watch all sorts of movies and try to watch as many good ones as I could, but I've ceased watching anything but anime. I also agree that TV is pretty worthless. Shows on HBO and Showtime are obviously pretty good, but they're not really accessible. I spend most of my time trying to watch as much anime as I can, I know it's not a race but every series I've watched has been rewarding so I can't stop.

Heh that's one of the appeals of anime to me. The vast vast majority of shows are PLANNED to only be one or two seasons. That's one of the big selling points for me over american tv. Here we try to string shows out for as long as humanly possible to milk that cash cow for all it's worth (CSI anyone? NCIS? Dear god...). But anime is different, they have a story they want to tell, they tell it, and it's done. Obviously there's exceptions, some shows do go on for many many seasons, but those are the minority and I love that about anime. Although I am guilty of watching both Naruto and Bleach in their entirety (minus the bounto arc...ugh), those are my exception to my rule lol
