I have issues with hoarding any item i can pick up then stashing it all in my room, am I crazy or are any of you crazy like I am? I stack explosives, guns, armor, crafting and aid items and never use even a quarter of them. I love the entire Fallout series, though Fallout 3 > Fallout NV.

NV does have a quicker pace and better living accommodations and mass gambling! I just felt more at home comparing to the original Fallout in Fallout 3.

Oh i never really talked about the subject lol, I only put away stuff that i thinks rare and sell everything else i dont need XD, like clothes and stuff. I like NV a bit better because i like the whole open map and i didnt really like all the metro tunnels i had to go into to get to new places in f3 :(, but it was still an epic game

New Vegas is better because of the team behind it (People involved in fallout 1 and 2)

New vegas is better than fallout 3. so much more customization! but i miss some of the f3 weapons like the perforator.

my build:
S:7
P:5
E:6
C:6
I:9
A:5
L:1

traits: wild wasteland, good nurtured

Weapons: 1 hunting rifle/sniper rifle, 1 all american, 1 hunting shotgun/this machine.

the sniper rifles are for the hard to kill enemies, the 'all american' is for those useless mobs who never deserve the death by my sniper rifle; or shooting charging enemies if they survive the first few .308 shots. the shotgun is usually used when inside buildings. switched to this machine if i'm going for hard quests with tough enemies.

i rarely touch 'this machine' unless i'm being swarmed by mobs.

I haven't gotten around to NV yet been spending time on other games. I never "hoarded" items unless they didn't weight anything. Only things I kept around were uniques.

Fallout 3 takes so much time to get good, going through all those subways with zombies and little human interaction really made it feel stagnant. NV has a great pace and I don't feel like I'm rinsing and repeating all the time.

I have to admit, I have the same hording problem. I have to have one of everything. In my hotel room in NV, each locker or storage device of some sort all have specific types of items in them... I did the same thing in Fallout 3 and Skyrim.

New Vegas could have easily been better than Fallout 3 to me, but Obsidian just cannot make a stable product. I can only ignore glitches and frame rate issues so much before they really start to annoy me and even after almost 2 years and several patches it's still really glitchy. I also didn't like how you couldn't continue past the ending, but eh whatever. It may be that I played the PS3 version and not the PC version which has less glitches apparently, but still (I got it before I got my gaming laptop).

As for the actual topic of this post, yeah I'm in the same boat as you. I hoard more or less everything that can be remotely useful and still find myself using only a fraction of it. I was like that in Oblivion too.

NV has amazing perks and features but FO3 still has the best story line..

That's good.. I hope you played NV in Hardcore mode.. Not really hardcore after all.. (much better than playing in normal mode )

Fallout 3 - Fallout: New Vegas
Short comparison, based on my views.

Story: Fallout 3
Fallout 3 features a solid story, better factions, better side stories.

Gameplay: Fallout: New Vegas
Basically Fallout: New Vegas is upgrade, as they learned from fallout 3 what they should add/remove.

Content: They are even here.
Content in the form of DLC's are even, i felt they added same amount of playtime and pleasure. They both feature dedicated modders, who make awesome mods.

Graphics: Even
Same engine, and i did not feel large differences in quality of map design or art.

I prefer Fallout 3, as the story is more grim and i really like the factions and their struggles, i also prefer the much more abundant city in fallout 3.

And to stay more on-topic, hoarding was only a thing i did when i downloaded an underground shelter mod, that added a super cool underground bunker with automatic ammo/books/weapon/armor stacking.

I've only really played New Vegas, I really enjoyed it. I bought Fallout 3 awhile ago, but never had a chance to play it.

OP, I never faced that problem, but i do get greedy with the caps i earn. At one point i collected 100,000 Caps and never managed to spent more than 100 caps in one place.
