I don't know about you guys, but personally, I don't like my name, and even my friends tell me it doesn't suit me. (Whether or not I take offense at that, I'll reflect upon it later.)

Well? What would you choose if you had the option?

Just to answer my own question, haha, I don't even know. I haven't stumbled upon a name to where I thought matched me well. Perhaps something like a Japanese name?

Whenever I graduate, I plan on changing my name. I am already starting to use my new name in a "common law name change" sort of way.

Melodie is the first name, Lenora is part of the middle name.

I wanna change my first name to either Akane, Akari, Mayu, Miyami or Sakura. I have some sort of attraction to those Japanese names. Or, I would change my name to either Luxalion, Xyth, or Nyx. I like exotic(?) names.

I have tons of options, ahaha.

I agree, but sometimes, someone comes along with a name you really like :3 And in some cases, the nicknames people come up with are just darn right weird. x) I'm okay with my name, but I wouldn't mind switching for a day.. lol.

Exotic and unique names are usually cool, in my opinion. I like Miyami and Mayu. I have a liking to specific letters - L, M, S, D.
When choosing a Japanese name, I think it's important to know what Kanji you will/should use, what the Kanji means, any connotations, history of the name, anything that might want to make you not choose it, just in case. Oh and of course the correct pronunciation. Meaning is very important with names in some cultures. I've found that many people in America either do not know or do not care what their name means.

If that is your desire, so be it ^^
Actually, my parents didn't consider it much, so I can't exactly love it. I think I'd rather go with my Japanese name.

Hehe, i like the letters - A, C, E, D, N, X, Y. ;p

I got most of those names from the anime's I've watched, Miyami from Maburaho, Akari and Mayu from Miracle Train, and I'm not really sure on where I got Akane from.

but you're right, it's good to know what your name means, and how it's going to look like in Kanji, and the like.

i would change it to Cain or Kain or Haine or Ai or Aindri lol i couldnt choose
i like those names and it'd be cool to be born with it but i'd never go out and legally change my name because it's my identity ehehe
i also kind of think it matches me because alot of people dont know meaning of names and someone still called me graceful <3

Your name is the first present your parents give you so cherish it.
Anyways I don't want to change my name. The meaning of it fits my fascination.

I've always liked the name "Amy" when I was a kid. Now that I think back to it, I wish I had the balls to convince my friend's to call me that. That way I wouldn't have been teased by 6 year old males for 2 years >:[

I don't get all these you should be thankful, you should cherish, your parents blessed you with it shit that I keep hearing here and elsewhere (not directed at me, though). What if your parents gave you a name that was meaningless? What if they just arbitrarily picked it because you have to, and didn't give it much thought? My siblings have slightly more meaningful names, like my brother's middle name has something to do with my grandfather, and my sister's middle name is French for friend, except we pronounce it "Amy" instead of how it supposed to be pronounced.

My first name came from a cheesy 80's song.
My middle name came from a lame 80's band.
My last name came from my biological father who wasn't a part of my life, and that's the only one of my names I like!

To me, my name right now is not pleasant in sound, look, memory, or meaning. It does not fit me.
