1. Open GIMP and go to File>>New then select any size you like..

2. Write any text you like with any color and font face...i used Fontdinerdotcom Luvable here..

3. Go to Filters>>Light and Shadow>>Drop Shadow...Put the Offset X and Y to 0. Put opacity to 100% and DON'T allow resizing...

Outlining Text

Tutorial by:// syusuketaiga

1. Click File>>New
2. Write any text you want (any color, any style and any font)
3. Make the foreground color the color you want to use for outlining.
4. Click Layer>>New Layer
5. Select Foreground Color>>OK
6. Be sure to click on the TEXT LAYER.
7. Click>>Layer>>Text To Selection>>Text To Selection
8. Click Select>>Grow
9. In the Grow dialog box write '2' (no ' ')(it doesn't have to be 2, anything would be fine but the most commonly used is 2..^^)
10. Click OK.
11. Click Select>>Invert
12. Click on the NEW LAYER and go to Edit>>Clear
13. Do the same when you want to outline it again BUT this time create a new layer(any foreground color you want) then put that layer under the previous layer you made.
14. Right click on the 1ST NEW LAYER and select Alpha To Selection.
15. Click Select>>Grow..this time put 1. Then OK.
16. Repeat Step 11 and 12.
17. Lastly, save it as .PNG
