So, I need to tell my story about how I started watching anime? Right, here goes:

I began watching anime at the year 90's. The TV channels in my country aired quite a lot of animes at that time (unlike today). My favorite varies from Doraemon, Patlabor, and Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon. Later, around 1999, I was introduced to (probably) the best Magical Girl anime ever existed at that time: Cardcaptor Sakura. There, I became a fan of it for roughly 5 years. But it wasn't my true start. My true start in watching anime started at 2006, when I finally became a huge fan of Neon Genesis Evangelion (I've known that one from my older brother before I watched CCS, actually - he's an anime fan too :P). Until now, I've watched quite a lot of top-quality animes, such as Clannad, Code Geass, School Rumble, K-ON!, The World God Only Knows, etc.

But although I likes watching anime, I don't like these "Big Three" (Bleach, One Piece, Naruto). The reason is that I don't feel like watching an anime series that exceeds 100 episodes. It's tiring.

LIke many people from the 90's my start is with Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball, Voltron. My sudden move to a different state brought new animes for me one of which was Vision of Escaflowne and the start of Pokemon and Digimon. I'm sure most people would know these titles. It was later with Naruto and .hack//sign when I really started to watch anime, I mean REALLY watch anime. Most of my high school activities was watching tons of anime. I've went from countless series to the next. The summers were spent watching animes which I happened to enjoy. I still watch anime but not as much as I used to as I can't find stuff to watch, lol.

I started out watching anime because they would be aired on tv, but i really showed no interest for them. That was when i was about 5 or 6 years old. They aired things like Dragon ball and Pokemon. I loved Pikachu so much when i was 6.
Then in year 5 i picked up a manga and started reading. I only did this because it looked slightly interesting. Then in year 6 (when i was about 12 years old) i began reading more and more manga.
When i was 13, that was when my anime/manga addiction started. My awesome otaku friend recommends me random anime/manga which i then find to be awesome!

I watched Pokémon from the first series up to advanced battle, everything after seemed terrible, as well as that I got my first look at Naruto which I liked a lot more, and digimon which just seemed like a Pokémon rip-off. However the first series I acknowledged that wasn't on day-time TV was the fruits basket box set me and a friend watched five time through on DVD. Then it began...

Sailor Moon/Pokemon.

I stopped watching anime for a while... then Spirited Away got me into the whole anime thing all over again at 16.

Now I still watch it at 23 years old.

I was 5, flipping through channels when suddently I come upon an anime and instantly fell in love.
I do not recall which anime it was that i saw first, Dragonball or Sailormoon, but those were the first anime I first saw that made me fall in love with anime. : ) I used to always wake up early as a child just to watch them. Sailormoon would come out at 6 30 am and dragonball @ about 9am <3

This is how I started to really watch anime, not just randomly switching on the TV, but actually, chronologically watching anime.

I was nine, and I found an episode of Digimon Season 1 on Cartoon Network. My sister and I got interested so then we decided to watch the series on Youtube. We watched all the seasons (in english) that were out so far and then we progressed to Cardcaptor Sakura, and then Tokyo Mew Mew. I think after that we started Shugo Chara, which was our first anime we watched sub.

Those were the days...

I didn't get into watching anime till probably around 1998. And I'm probably one of the few people that didn't care to watch Dragon Ball Z. Digimon is what started it all with anime for me.

I was more into watching Disney cartoons like Chip and Dale: Rescue Rangers and Duck Tails when I was a kid. Although when I was 7 or 8, I didn't really watch too much TV. I'd be outside, while my younger sister would be the one plunked on the couch on a Saturday morning. Then one day, I found her watching Digimon (season 1), and I was like, "What's that?". She didn't know, but we watched it together. I still remember a fight we had once at the episode where Piedmon turned all the DigDestined into keychains, and we couldn't really tell who got turned into a keychain first. I said it was Tai, and she said Matt. We debated for 3 days. I don't think we ever settled it, although now that I recall, I think Tai and Matt both got turned into keychains at the same time.

Fast forward a year or so, to junior high, and my sister moved on to liking boys and hanging with friends. While I stayed being into watching anime, and have been a fan ever since. After Digimon, I checked out Yu-gi-oh, Beyblade, Cardcaptors, and Pokemon. Those still remain some of my favourites to this day.

Although, today, I watch more of a variety of anime - watching most of it on Cruchyroll or Animecrazy, as not much is airing on TV where I live anymore. Anime has become a big interest for me, and I don't plan to let go anytime soon.
