A question for u.
Why in the world wouldnt it be okay for women to have muiltiply husbands while men can?

im against it.

To start with, i think its demeaning to women.
A husband with a lot of wives. That seems to be there is no value in women period.
Its like we are just things to have and not only have one.

I saw a documentary about it on certain groups that follow that practice and a lot of the women are completly miserable and actually run away so there is prove that it its harmful and a horrible way to live.

because women can only have on child at a time, and it takes 9 months until she gives birth, so there is absolutley no reason for a woman to have more than one husband.

a man, however, can continuously have sex with his wives because he can constantly get women pregnant, and doesn't have to wait 9 months after he gets a woman pregnant to impregnate a different woman. a woman can't do that, so polygymy for women wouldn't work nearly as well.

i saw this thing on DR. Phil and there were the 3 women who live together and share the same huband and they were happy about it. you're right that is demeaning to women but some women are ok with it. some enjoy it. i think its wrong though.

Yea i know some women are happy about it but with situations like that, having more then one wife
its easier for women to be in abuse situations

Its the same for anything in the world
Anything u follow
some are unhappy while some are happy following certain rules or stuff.

Polygamy is oky. Sometimes it's kinda suggested in anime. Anybody rememder Love Hina, Maburaho, or most probably Negima. Those anime shout out polygamy. Of course it was a traditional thing in ancient japan. The emporer or even feudal lord of a small area would have multiple wives for social relations between opposing groups, show of wealth, or ,probly the most unspoken of, creation of a superior gene.

What Man in their right mind would want multiple wives? What man in their right mind would want 1 wife? Can some body please tell me the benefits of being married besides the tax break you get from the government? It's obvious that a majority of women in THIS country have no intentions of WANTING 2 get married any way! I am completely serious here...and do me favor, no arguments about finding True love or wanting to spend the rest of your life with the ONE person on Earth who was meant 4 you and only you!

What do you think about having more than one partner?
selfish and stupid.
theres no point to it.
just more sex.

Do you think such relationships can work?
no.

Would you consider it?
hell no.

What do you think it would be like having 2 or more wives/husbands?
impossible. how can you keep up with both?
theres bound to be jealousy at some point
if your not then you're crazy.

Also what are the positive/negative points in such relationships?
positive? sex sex and more sex. and i guess more interesting partners.
negative? everything else.

I like to consider myself a pretty open minded person, but I must confess that I am totally against this one.
Polygamy defies the basic elements of human nature. Are we not jealous, when we see someone else with are mates, are lovers? I think the love between partner should not be shared around with everyone.

Call me old fashioned, but I would want that kind of love to be sacred, not passed around like a bong.

I would never consider it.

If the 10 wives or so are all ok with it then why not,as the ancient egyptian law said,a man can have many wives but must all be kept in comfort,as long as no one is being held against their will then its fine.

well, things like this can often depend on what time period you're living in

the 21th century - clearly, have one partner is ideal and 'normal'

but, back in history it wasnt uncommon for rulers of kingdoms, the monarchy or just high status people in general to have more then one partner.

Take chinese emperors for example. they normally had 2 MAIN partners that would become their child bearers and then several other partners, most chosen out of random (they would file up in a line and the emperor would simply choose) just for having sex.

And remember, there were no forms of contraception or legal abortions available, so having many children was an inevitable result

i think it depends of the people. if everyone involved is fine with it, then an outsider can't really say much. Socially, most countries are governed by law, and polygamy isn't really allowed anymore. It's usually found in more religion run countries.

I myself and selfish when it comes to love. Mine is Mine, i don't share, and i will not let my partner share his love with anyone else besides me and family. that just how it is for me!

I don't like to share. Plus, I don't get it, that's just saying cheating is ok.
