Anyone else see the video of the in-game footage? I cannot wait for this game to come out. I loved playing Battlefield 2!

This game is going to bring the PC community back full force and show those console money sucking company guys like activision and ea that the PC community is NOT dead. I cannot wait until fall this year because it is going to be EPIC.
I know this game is being published by EA, but at least there is a chance that this will show other companies that they should make games on PC first and then port to consoles. |

Is there comfirmed mod tools and map editor? If not don't get your hopes up on bf3 being the savior of the PC. Although some could argue that PC gaming doesn't need saving. Most major multi-platform games are being made for PC as well lately and steam allows independent developers to publish their games without getting strangled by big companies like microsoft. |

Well DICE is saying nothing is in the works right now for mod tools, but have not completely ruled it out for the future. I do not believe that BF3 will dethrone CoD games, but I am hoping that it will at least get people that pirate games to seriously consider buying this game since DICE, not perfect, is trying to reach out to the PC community. Last fiscal year 64 million "gaming" computers were sold, now I am not sure what they consider gaming computers, but if they want a computer for gaming, then that is quite a large number of computers.
If BF3 sold 3-8 mil the first month, I would be quite happy with that. If it sold more on PC, than anything else I would be happy with that. I am keeping my expectations real and being optimistic at the same time. BF3 is going to showcase something not many have seen in PC gaming in a long time. Commander function is out, mod tools are on the shelf, and it will NOT be a reskin of BF2, so that leaves you with some things that are deal breakers. I just really hope that this game will not be pirated like a mad dog and if the pirated numbers are low and PC sales are high, then EA is going to really focus hard on the PC community with future releases. BF3 IS NOT the savior of computer gaming, but I strongly believe that the PC community is alive and well and that this game is just giving more of a boost to how great the PC community really is out there. |

My computer probably won't be able to run it so I'll be stuck getting the console version.

I honestly wish they reconsider the commander function. It added a really sweet level of strategy to the game. It's one of the reasons that I loved BF2 the most. Nothing like requesting an artillery strike then sending your own spec ops to blow up the opposing commander's satellite uplink. |

I need this game
DiCE said they won't be releasing mod tools at launch since they're focusing on the game but they said they eventually probably will. BC2 couldn't get mod tools because the destruction programming in Frostbite 1.5 was too complex Frostbite 2 is apparently much more streamlined and efficient so mod tools are possible but it's still going to be a pain |
