Not how much you know about space and hair styling.

If you try to force your way into the social scene by doing whatever it takes to fit in, your just attempting to please everyone. Which is inherently impossible. My plan is to be myself and see who accepts me for it. Those who don't can choose not to. I can control their opinions.

I don't accept you.

I'm glad you can control my opinion.

Oh, I guess I forgot to put the 't in there.

Gotcha.

Why is Looks so big in today's world? Why does most people only go for people that look hot/sexy? Has anyone look past all the looks and see what the person really is and how there soul and heart is? Way to many people today just go by how other look and dont even care about how the person really is it can be a sad world at times
I have seen lots of people get hurt b/c others judge them just by there looks

Do you think this is right how you feel about this?

Are you kidding me? Looks have always been of importance. Our views of what IS beautiful is often dictated by the media (because our own primal instinct goes for certain attributes that our media isn't big on - such as women that appear more fertile. A lot of media darlings look like 12 year olds), but looks absolutely matter.

The only problem with focusing only on looks is ultimately why people end up complaining about having dated a cheater/dated an asshole.

Your face is the first part of you to be known when you first meet other people, not your heart and soul.
(Except for internet chatting)
That's why most people judge others from their looks.
Anyway, I think being friendly and smiling at other people are really helpful. =)

In a way you spend a lot more time looking at someone then you do talking to them, plus looks good-looks always makes sex better & bearable in some cases lol.

I don't think many people would approach/be approached by someone if that someone didn't find them physically attractive.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Everyone is beautiful in their own way. That's all.

Because its profitable and people are easily swayed by media when you start influencing them at an early age.

There has to be at least a tiny bit of attraction to get the door open for personality.

In the end, love is about sexual reproduction.

And ugly people shouldn't reproduce.

The End.

There have to be some uglies to make the good looking people look better by comparison.

There's a hierarchy of good looking people.
The bottom of the good looking pyramid will always be the new "ugly" ones.

This cycle repeats until only the sexiest person is left alive.
That would be me.

Did Sir Edmund Hillary feel lonely when he climbed Mt. Everest?

No, he felt like he was at the top of the world, which he was. (Fuck K2)

So how good must I feel to have climbed the aesthetic mountain?

I'd guess pretty damn good.

Like you climbed a relatively easy mountain as compared to Annapurna.

We all know looks are important in sexual attraction, and although it's effects are strong, they are sometimes overstated because looks aren't the sole factor in attraction.

Here's a rundown of some of the factors (not in order of significance)
1. Proximity
2. Similarity
3. Physical Attraction
4. Reciprocity*

Physical nearness is often underscored because people don't really think about it as being a factor in attraction, but if you're always around someone of the opposite sex, you tend to become familiar with her/him and think about him/her more often. I hope we have all noticed that we are attracted to classmates we see frequently, but aren't the most physically attractive compared other students at school.

Similarity is a big one too. You tend to be more attracted to people who share the same interests and are from the same cultural background.

Reciprocity is a little more more difficult to explain, but I believe it is that the exchanges of between two people have to be somewhat equal and meaningful. Basically, in order to have any relationship at all, there has to be an open exchange of thoughts and feelings. If that doesn't exist, little attraction can exist and no relationship can form.

Of course physical attraction had it's own purpose in the evolutionary chain. Those that were more physically attractive showed that they weren't diseased, had less likelihood of genetic disorders, and were overall more healthy. To nature, physical attraction was a necessary function of life. Also physical attraction is the only factor in attraction that was given to you through your genes. So think of it as your starting point, where your level of attractiveness can go up or down depending on how you engage in the other factors. It is true that more physically attractive people have an unfair advantage over other people in life.

I just wanted to add an objective opinion to this. Physical attraction isn't everything (although I admit, it's pretty strong). I hope that gives hope to some people who believe that they aren't physically attractive.
