Hrm...since this is 'non-Asian'...there is one that really sticks out in my mind.
Unfortunately, I dont' remember what it's called.
It was about immigration and this guy came with his sister to the US and she ends up dying. I watched it in Spanish class and it was so good.
Can't really think of any other films outside of Asian, though, but that's because they're more popular, I'd say, than any other.
