Well, we can hardly complain. Given what's going on, it's perfectly understandable.

We're lucky in that (in most cases) the worst we're getting of this is a few delays for the shows we watch.

My thoughts are with all those in the affected areas and those with family and friends there.

CR doesn't need its own help fund. If you want to support the recovery efforts you can donate to Red Cross or globalgiving

http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/japan-earthquake-tsunami-relief/
http://www.redcross.org/en/

Also, texting REDCROSS to 90999 will add a $10 donation, charged to your bill.

If you're unsure about 90999 being a scam you can see redcross mention the number here:

My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to everyone in Japan and those who have friends and family in Japan right now. This is a complete disaster! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how much damage actually occurred. I just hope they can come back from something like this because Japan is an amazing country. Even if its just saying a prayer, I hope everyone can do something to help.

News keeps getting worse and worse - even the Gundam got taken down by this one But I hear the post is still being collected so I ordered some stuff from my favourite Jlist - they are all okay and I guess life needs to go on, right?

Donate to the Red Cross in your local country I would suggest - the national organisations all get involved in something of this size and I understand the Japanese gov't have now asked for international assistance :(

We'll be waiting for Gosick and the rest, no problems. I already watched the Makoto Shinkai films today which made me even sadder :`)

unfortuantly it a well know fact that any money donated to the red cross, only 8% ever makes it to the people who need it

that's not place the blame on the red cross, more the routes through goverment it has to take

They say 91% makes it to the people in need and I have no evidence against that. If you do, you should show it. 8% would fail every charity audit ever, anywhere so I don't believe it I'm afraid. You might be thinking of the European Parliament, maybe - they're expensive and useless.

i'm just going by what i did my Geography GCSE on, that said, this was 14 years ago and aimed at Africans countries like Somalia

Always best to re-check from time to time. When you measure things, they change: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20100116181548AACwpVF

But I can't fault this: the important thing is to be ready to help wherever you can (and not just Japan because they make all the animé we love so much).

ADVICE FROM A FINANCIAL CONSULTANT FORMERLY WITH THE UNITED NATIONS:

I strongly advise anyone who wishes to donate and can navigate the japanese language to offer CASH or paypal/wire-transfers to directly to domestic aid foundations. The Red Cross is HUGE in Japan but donate directly to their domestic offices.

Basically avoid charitable donations that risk political or external biases.

These particular campaigns have been organized by the mGive Foundation, a Denver-based charity that manages mobile donation programs. MGive says it vets and certifies the organizations it works with.

•To donate to American Red Cross Relief, text REDCROSS to 90999

•To donate to Convoy of Hope, a faith-based organization that does community outreach and disaster response, text TSUNAMI to 50555

•To donate to GlobalGiving, which focuses on “grassroots projects in the developing world,” text JAPAN to 50555

•To donate to World Relief Corp., the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals, text WAVE to 50555
Text-based donations raised tens of millions of dollars for Haiti in 2010.

4 ways to donate and have it charge to your cell phone bill. ^^

The Google Person Finder has been set up for those looking to locate loved ones in Japan. The link to that site is:
