I was surprised by this, I didn't get to hear it until someone said "Aren't you watching the news?".

I am feeling for them, and that they have to go through this.

As commented earlier, I also thought about if any of the Mangaka's, Anime Makers and so on got hurt / killed in this, there would be no more of those.

Of course human lives are more important, and I wish that there was no casualties, although this is not true anymore looking at the news.

Yeah hopefully Japan recovers soon from that earthquake for their sakes first and for our sakes last. I love watching anime and it does upset me a little about not having the new anime to come out soon, but I am more upset that an earthquake happened in Japan than my own selfish reason. Best of luck and wishes to the people in Japan and hopefully other nations help them too as well.

My first thought when I heard the terrible news was "oh well.. there goes tonight's Gosick".
My second thought was "I hope no manga/anime writers/artists died"
My third thought went to the people of Japan.

This.

First thing I thought when I heard about the earthquake was "Damn, I hope all the mangaka's and anime studios are alright." But when I actually saw the state of Japan, watching anime and reading manga was hardly top priority. That wasn't your average earthquake :/ It managed to devastate a country that's got infrastructure specifically for earthquakes, so you can pretty much guess the enormity of it.
I send my condolences out to anyone who has lost friends or family, and wish Japan best of luck recovering.
We all know how awesome Japan is though, so hopefully they'll get back on their feet soon enough. Fighting, Japan <3

Damn i saw this on tv. Thats some heavy stuff going on there. It was THE hardest quake since 140 years. To bad with the simulcasts but they cant help it. I hope they can get everything together.

They are the best at working in teams and working together with one another, what makes their culture way better than america and a lot of other countries.
There are live news videos and such being streamed online.

The only saving grace was this country was extremely prepared for this type of disaster or the death toll would have been much higher than it most likely already is.

My condolences and wishes for the best to the people of northern Japan.

Man! Seeing everything that happened out there must be scary. I haven't ever been in a flood but i've seen one happen, it's scary stuff.
I hope that Japan is able to pull through with this. Hopefully ally countries will also lend a hand. Like they did with Haiti.

My prayers go out to everyone in Japan, know that I'm praying for you especially my family members and those who've lost any relatives

But let's look on the bright side: Japan was prepared and the US and probably many other countries are going to help; Know this Japan, you are not suffering through this alone, everyone around the world is too

I can't even begin to imagine that sort of devastation or what it must be like to witness first hand - it is sickening enough to just see the videos of exploding gas plants, or swaying 30 foot tall buildings, or watching the tsunami bearing down on people who were driving along the road and watching them swept away like ants. Simulcasts? That is the least of anyone's worries I am sure. From the amount of destruction in some of the cities I saw pictures of, I just want to cry...it is unfathomable.
I am glad that Japan is more prepared than other countries for earthquakes, but I don't think anyone can be prepared for that magnitude.

Oh, and if anyone saw the video of the grocery store with everything falling off the shelves and the workers trying to hold them up, all those people deserve a raise. I wouldn't have been worrying about the product...I was yelling at my monitor for them to run and duck for cover. Sheesh, that is a little too much dedication right there.
