Already made a donation at the Red Cross website, as many have suggested. If you have an amazon.com account you can pay with a card you already have saved in their secure system.

Using this method took me maybe three minutes, but I'm hoping it could make the coming days and weeks easier to bear for the victims of this natural disaster.

I practically live on the fault line here in California, so in its own way, this disaster hits home for me. I've never really been one for prayer, but my thoughts are with the families affected either way.

Woke up to the news this morning here in the US. The Japanese people will be in my prayers tonight, I hope the aid gets there quickly and US assets will be of help.

God Bless Japan, America stands with you.

I wouldn't care if these shows were never resumed as long as everyone is ok, and they don't announce any more significant rises in the death toll. The least of everyones concerns should be a damn show!

I'm planning on donating to Red Cross, but I would also like to see a CR established relief fund. I think we should show them the other anime communities around the world have their back.

My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone directly or indirectly effected by this devastating tragedy. I hope everyone can be united with their loved ones soon, and everything works out for the best.

And, to Shinji and any CR staffers currently in Japan, I hope you and your loved ones are ok!

Stay Strong Japan!

Urahara Out!!

If history and anime have taught me anything... Japan becomes even more technologically awesome after disasters. So I raise my caffeinated beverage of choice to the future über-Japan

This is absolutely devastating. I can't even begin to imagine what they are all going through. My heart and prayers are with everyone that was involved or affected by this horrible tragedy. Not worried about the Anime at all. Even though I love it, I don't mind going however long without it until everything has calmed down for them. My God be with you all.

I really hope that this has not done too much damage, not only to the people but the the infrastructure of Japan, I hope Wntermute is right and I will raise my caffeinated beverage of choice to the people helping restore normality. The red cross is doing what they can but a CR relief effort would be better yet, it would not be the first time a group got behind a cause and if this thread is anything to go by it would be worthwhile to set one up.

And who cares about simulcasts when lots of people is dead or not accounted for...
This is the time for everybody to help as we can and make our thoughts and prayers go to all that are in need.
It will be sometime till everything comes to a more or less normal situation, so waiting for is the least that we can do.

This week will be full cancellations of almost everything for news coverage on the devastation, the aftershocks are on the way as well. This is going to be hell. However as far as the media industry in japan goes, they are heartless unrelenting workhorses. The gears will be in motion shortly so they can keep making what money they can in their horrible economy. Our Anime will be back in a week or two, actually many of the satellite broadcasts won't even be cancelled.
If you take away all the NEETs Anime and Manga they might actually be productive to society, heaven forbid.

The chaos and damage in Japan is pretty horrible and my prayers go out to them that as many as possible are safe and can recover quickly, and hopefully had insurance of some kind, although doubtful ... :(
Mother Nature pulled a Marvel VS Capcom 3; "Fasten your seat belts i'm gonna take you on a wild ride" and jacked everything all up. What the hell is with this planet recently!?

No worries and no complains about the simulcasts. Totally understandable CR. We are now concern about how can we help. I read the some of the posts and seems that I can help via Amazon or directly to the Red Cross. I will do it.

Admitting that I am aggravated this weekend and the following weeks will have simulcast and fansub halts, I shouldn't be concerned with that. I don't know if it was when I first about the quake but Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 did indeed come to mind. Doesn't it seem prophetic a great summer 2009 anime of what was a fictionalized account of something predicted to happen within the next few decades happens less than 2 years later.
