Do you buy or rent anime on Blu-ray?

I purchase anime on Blu-Ray. I usually go to Right Stuff or Amazon to purchase them.

Do you feel Japan and the U.S. being in the same region for Blu-ray is more positive or negative?

Positive. This means I can shop for Blu-disk to be imported. Only thing stopping me right now is price. I see the price being $60-$100 per disk which contains only 2-3 episodes. Most of titles I would be looking at are only on raw Japanese. This would make it difficult for me to consider buying.

If there were subtitles on the disks. There would be a greater incentive for me to buy them so I can import/play them on my PS3 and understand the dialogue.

I am considering getting Valkyria Chronicles on Blu-disk, even if it is in Raw Japanese ($400.00 for Box set with shipping). I like the Intellectual Property.

If its natively 1080p not just upscaled then Hell yes! though I am still happy to pay the bit extra for a tinny bit more clarity and more durable disks even if it is just upscaled.

I only watch non-animated good movies on my blueray player, since I want to enjoy the high definition and live the movie, and animated movies only go so far if you understand what I mean? Personally I wouldn't buy anime on blue ray since I can watch all of that on my ipod/laptop/portable dvd player instead.
