We currently do not support AirPlay and do not mention AirPlay anywhere during the signup process. But we will support it when time permits.

If you have any questions related to billing, you will need to use the following contact form.

Yes it is in the works. I got someone to look into it right now but I can't say for sure when it will be supported. We may need to change the way we encode the videos.

What codec do your 720p video use?

We don't have any 720P videos for iOS but we use h.264/avc1.

Ok so the quality boost between free and paid on the iOS was just my imagination then...

This is a feature I would love to see implemented too :)

I tried the iPad app first, even watched a few shows via AirPlay, then decided that this is something I would definitely like to subscribe to, then imagine my dismay when I upgrade, and I can now watch more shows and they seem in higher quality on my iPad but can no longer watch them on my tv via AirPlay.

Sadly I think that you are right and it's an issue with the higher quality subscriber stream not being compatible with AppleTv, I know re-encoding would be a very long winded process but do you think it might be possible as a temporary fix to simply allow logged in users to select the lower quality stream via an option setting whenever they wish to use AirPlay and then switch back when not?

I am definitely still going to keep being a subscriber as I think this site and it's service is amazing but I think getting AirPlay working for paying customers over free customers for whom it work but have limited access would be great.

Thank you

While AirPlay would be ideal, for now mirroring the app via the Apple Digital AV adapter does work fine and there is little, if any, quality loss. AV also appears to stay in sync.

As for why there is no 720p on iOS does make me curious. It looks like the application right now uses a stream re-encoded into a QuickTime format. Any particular reason it's not HTML5? I'm not sure what extension the flash streams on the site use but if it's .m4v, I'm pretty sure HTML5 can handle that in 720p. You would still have to serve up a different source file for the free user vs. premium user though. Nonetheless, something you might want to look into

720P was not provided since iPhones and iPads don't have 720P displays. Though, with more people watching the videos on their TVs, we are likely to provide a 720P option.

As for when Airplay will be officially supported by our app? I'm not sure yet but it is something we will be supporting as long as no issues pop up.

Ah. Good point about 720p. You don't get full 720p on iOS devices yet do you? Since you are looking into a 720p option, would it be available when not connected to a TV, or would it only switch on when video-out is detected?
