I don't know Shiro seems a little broken.

I was thinking of a pussafied version of Snake, but with supper powers. That and the Running man game show.

You know, I was totally looking forward to this show. I thought the plot sounded awesome, though a bit far-fetched, and the first episode had me hooked. THEN CAME THE SPOILERS. I mean, crap. I feel like the only shows I can watch nowadays are the anime originals. I'll keep watching this one, but I don't think it'll be as fun anymore now that I know the truth.

To me it looked like their ratings with the viewers watching them fight is what gets them "candy" and it looked to me like the candy powers their collars and gives them more time to live. Just a guess from only ever seeing the first episode and none of the manga so I could be wrong.  |

Well the title of episode 2 was listed as Antidote/Candy so my guess is the collar release a poison into the prisoners and if you don't get the antidote (IE: the candy) you die.
pretty good way of keeping your prisoners in line I guess. Even if you escape you die anyway

A while back I read the first chapter of the manga and it didn't hook me in at all. My memories of that are a little hazy though.
The censorship really ruins the show. Its unfortunate that Deadman Wonderland isn't on AT-X. Looks like I'll be downloading the BD rips in a few months.
Well I laughed at Ganta's hearing. The way the people who tackled him and then beat the crap out of him was hilarious. I definitely didn't expect that to happen.
Damn, I was excited to see Kana Hanazawa in another role but she's doing her childish/cute voice which I'm not too fond of. The ending seemed too bright and happy for such a depressing show.
The sequence before the end showing some characters was a nice preview of the other types of people who inhabit the prison.
The setting of the anime really interests me. I'm excited for the games they have to take part; they seem bright and colourful but I'm sure some kind of gruesome fate awaits the contestants.

Episode 1 was awesome. The music was so fitting with the series too. I really loved the look of Ganta's Branch of Sin weapon. It looked really cool.
