Background: Rosario + Vampire is the story of Aono Tsukune who failed his high school entrance exams when one night his father finds a pamphlet, from a priest, about a school he can attend. When Tsukune arrives the school looks frighting and creepy as if its from another dimension. In short the school is for monsters and Tsukune is a less than average human. The plot focuses around his days at the school which becomes a harem, solving various problems, and hiding the fact that he is not a monster from the rest of the students.

My question is have you seen it and if so what did you think? I feel not enough people have seen it before and its one of my favorite animes. If you are not a fan of ecchi then do not watch but if you don't care i'm interested to know how people feel about it so give it a shot.

Rosario+Vampire is one of my favorite animes and been looking for it on DVD here in the States which surprises me its not out. It doesnt help my case though that the voice actress for Moka is one of the top of my favorite voice actresses. I like the manga a whole lot more but I say this always start off with the anime before jumping in on the manga or else you will be disappointed with the anime afterward. A great example of this is Freezing the manga is really excellent and the anime is just fanservice.

They are due out in 2011. The last info I saw pegged the release date at the end of August.

There wasn't any plot to begin with, it was adapted into a Romantic Comedy. I haven't read the manga, but the anime was enjoyable for me to watch.

as you said the anime was a fun romantic comedy which I enjoyed as well, while the manga
if they ever do another season if they can do some of the major stories from the manga then I would enjoy it much more.

Fun series! Though there wasn't much of a plot, but enjoyed it anyways. Wouldn't mind seeing another season of it.

trust me if you watch Freezing or even Queens Blade those are about hardcore fanservice R+V isnt that hardcore with it. The manga is much better though and not so much about the fanservice. Though I like how the series is more realistic on the body shape where they dont have watermelons bouncing around like most series that go for fanservice.

You'll only get hardcore fanservice in Freezing if you watch a uncensored fansub (I assume from AT-X), as in the broadcast version Funimation provides, I see a lot of light and shadow.

Regarding Rosario+Vampire, if one took out the constant panty shots, I think most people would be surprised how little other fan service there is in the series. Of course, for some people, 1 bit of fan service per episode would classify a series as ecchi.

Rosario+Vampire was yet another ecchi and harem anime. I don't see why you're complaining about it's lack of popularity; it's definitely one of the more well-known ones out there in it's genre. Personally, I'm not a big fan of this type of anime, and I was even more turned off by that random curry episode in Season 2...
On the other hand, if Rosario+Vampire followed the manga plot (Yes, the manga has a plot; it did a Negima and went all battle and fighting on us) then it would probably be a bit more interesting.
