the most recent chapter was released after the Earthquake and Tsunami so I would think there maybe a delay in the next chapter of about a week or two, I agree that MK being dead is not likely.

I'm pretty sure that a website similar to this one announced that Kishi and the creators of the other manga stories such as Bleach all confirmed their safety.
