Been working since the fourth grade (paper route) and anything outside of Christmas and my birthday I get myself. Course, I actually have to have people force me to tell them what I want, so I guess it's a no either way.

Our family is a structured hierarchy, and I have no illusions where my place is and will always be, until our roles eventually become reversed.
If taken in another context though, I think we are all being spoiled by our dependency on technology, which can breed laziness and ignorance. People seem to need something shiny and new to feed their satisfaction. Only to suffer withdrawal symptoms when a natural disaster hits, and they lose electricity for 5 days. I don’t own a smart phone, just a clunky old cell phone, and some patronizing little brat at school told me “You’re not so smart, don’t you know there’s an app to fix that.” And he really believed it.

I'm not spoiled.. At least, I like to think so.
I'm pretty independent and I hate asking anyone for anything... I just don't like ever feeling like I owe anything to anyone. I don't like giving people the satisfaction of having me in their debt... So whatever I want or need, I get for myself...
Although there are always some people who love to spoil me for no reason even though they know I hate it... Kinda makes me feel like an a**hole sometimes.... |
