Lol. Their Yu-Gi-Oh license was also terminated from them, so they really do now have nothing.

i am going to play devils advocate here and say one thing for 4kids they did a decent dub on yu-gi-oh I actually liked the va's even though there where "lol i am holding a gun missing scenes" 4kids did do there job and get mainstream kids interested in anime and if not for that there wouldn't be teens and young adults watching anime now. I know that sounds stupid but look at the vast majority of ages of people on here they are around 16-30 so many grew up in the 90's and saw anime in it's prime on t.v. but this aside This is it for them, I don't see a crippling company making any sort of a come back after this if not at all. I just hope funimaiton doesn't get affects because I want my damn railgun/index blurays already >_>

Though I didn't quite approve of the 4kids dubbing job, I do agree that they did do their job of getting anime to the younger generations. Companies like 4kids (can't remember the exact company) did the original dub on shows like Sailor Moon, which was probably my first anime at around age 10, maybe even younger. And because of their job of trying to make the show relatable to an American audience, as a child I was able to enjoy it. Now that I'm older, I feel that they should stop cutting out and censoring the shows so I can actually enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh for the show it's supposed to be, but as a parent myself, I'm somewhat grateful that there is that little bit of censorship left. So, I'm torn, but leaning more towards the "stop censoring my anime!" The least 4Kids could have done was provide the original Japanese with subtitles, or an uncut version like what Bandai (I think?) did with Gundam Wing.

Don't forget that they try to convince that United States is the only country in the world, THUS taking out EVERY small bit of Japanese culture.

i hate to defend 4kids on this level I REALLY DO but that happens in any show from the country of origin Japan is no less guilty of this than anyone esle. Look at our cartoons, so much the new ones the older ones, our movies, action games etc. Everything takes place in America with a destroyed Washington dc in the new action flicks, or the whole world is ending but only shows America etc. They tried to make it relatieable on some levels. Name one anime doesn't show an amercian or foreigners from Britain, Germany etc that have blond hair and blue eyes. Phew I am done on it all this needless nit picking aside I love the irony in the thing because i remember their demand back in 07 or 08 to take a down a piracy advocacy fan add using one piece.

pretty much so they did kids introduced to anime and with out them i don't think cr would be as popular as it is today without some starting anime for younger kids but well shit happens.

Psh, I am still upset CR has yet to announce Zexal simulcast.

really?? of all the new anime coming out like dead man wonder land you want something as trivial as that?? I will not lie to you i loved the original yugioh and liked gx but feel out with it after. Hell the new gen just looks stupid to me and i haven't needed to buy any new cards since forming the perfect deck, all of this aside there might just might be a chance since 4 kids lost there only cash cow left and now there is no one to even license/holds the license for the original series anymore so maybe cr will pick it up but with the reception of card fight vanguard i don't think so.

VG has no advertisement to CR fans. At least Yugioh is ... well Yugioh.

You can say that til you're blue in the face, because there are 1 million ways you could've introduced anime to america that would not have been done the way 4Krap did it. So I don't buy that.

^ while your guys enthusiam is high. Please keep the "spam" to a minimum.

Guess it's now all up to Viz Media, 5D's manga translator/distributor. Whether they will pick up the anime version.

Note surprised ~ saw a couple of months ago Anime News Network had their financial report, and they are losing so much money ~ it is not surprising they tried to cheat. Lots of companies when they get in over their heads try to cheat some extra profits to get back in the game. 4Kids just got caught.

As far as opening their eyes ~ this is more likely to close 4Kids eyes. Permanently. They were losing such a large amount of money, and now they are losing one of their last valuable licenses.

Because the author feels it should take place in Amercia, it's fine to show only one culture if the project is made in THAT same country of origion and isn't placed just to edited out another completely(unless for censorship reasons or anything that's banned from the country of origin) ,& it also depends on the setting of the story. The point is, 4kids shouldn't be taking out every bit of Japanese culture out of anime, it's where it's made, that's like kidnapping a German kid and forcing him to speak the same accent, language and have the same skin color as you, convincing him that his mommy is an American then passing him an off as an American, what's wrong with showing forgein culture in forgein cartoons? Oh and Code Geass.
