well if our sun began to die out or we screwed our planet over to much of course its possible to send some people there who will spend their entire lives on the ship and reproduce on it and make their own food on it but everything that isnt just completely insane is possible

if the sun dies, we all die no matter what planet we're on. ^_^;

i'm putting some other arguments out of the way just to point out... ('cause i haven't seen this being used in previous discussions)

that sun is red; our sun is actually younger than it...

if travelling there is possible, when possible... i'd support going there to check things out.. but migrating might be a different thing...

its a great discovery.. very interesting... maybe in the near future, we could develop something that we can use in order to migrate in that planet, but i wont let my hopes high for it

Uhh....who told you the planet is dying? Seriously, the planet is *not* dying. There is no proof of this as far as I know, and remember, even if the human race die out, that dosen't mean the 'planet' dies. Our planet is stable. It is true that one day our sun will die, (though not for a few billion years) meaning all life in our solar system will die with it, but that's thinking ahead a little too far.

Our planet is actually dying. The proof is all around you... soon... this planet will become inhospitable--unless we change our acts.

You send a whole bunch of babies to this 2nd earth is what i will call it, if they live you make sure to send the right materials to educate them on their mission and gather all the information needed for the study. Like it or not because of the complete disregaurd we ALL have for our planet it is and will die within a few hundred years if not sooner dew to chemical warfair and getting the shit bombed out of us.
And don't worry the babies parents and families will be well taken care of for their participation in this Global/scientific matter

P.S. A new planet sounds awsome I'd go if the outscurts of our galaxy didn't scare the crap out of me

uhhm i think there is only one earth and instead of thinking about migrating and all that stuff..we should think more about preserving our planet...so that life on earth continues

The sun is at its red dwarf stage and were recieving the images of the planets and star late (really late late). The image we see is what the planets and star looked like soooooo so so soooooo so many years ago, Its most probably dead by now or about to die. our Sun isnt even past the half way point of a stars life.

If our sun begins to die out, we can always go there! By then, we would probably have the technology to travel throughout space. That's very interesting... Maybe there are aliens there. I really do believe that aliens exist.

First thing to address is the method of travel. I would not engage in lightspeed travel because of the nasty phenomenon called time dilation. Opening up a rift that causes wormholes would not have that kind of problem. There's also warp drives to consider as an alternative means though the technology is nonexistent at this time.
