Am I the only one who seems to think that this could be a slight romance anime due to the fact that Kazuya and Victorique have feelings more than friendship? Yes I understand this could also just be a way to show how their characters are evolving and coming out of their shells into more social people. I hope I'm not just wishing for a romance to survive between these two...

oh this is very much a classical Gothic romance. you have mystery , intrigue , a love triangle and the supernatural all rolled in to it.
I believe by shear definition a Gothic romance is a story holding a sense of fear, maddens, longing and forbidden. most are written in the Victorian age, or involve it. most involve aristocracy and the love interest- though usually the female is usually a poor or in some way abandoned character. so to answer Yes, this is a Gothic romance in every scene of the genre

I sure hope so, the plot is really good but with only five episodes left it would be a shame if nothing happens.

I think it is not the focus of the series, but an aspect of it. Some relationships that develop in some series are seriously unbelievable how they develop but this seems to be much more thought out and I am a fan I have to admit.

it may be that it focuses more on their Friendship than a relationship, while i was watching the series it seems that Victorique likes Kujo but of course Kujo is his usual clueless, slow self xD

of course there's a romance with Kujo and Victorique......remember episode 5? Victorique said she hides when someone she doesnt know comes up the library, but the first kujo came up there, she didnt hide and when Kujo asked about it, she blushed.

Most of the series it seems that Victorique likes Kujo and Kujo is clueless and thinks of her as his dearest friend, but at the end i think near the end it has romance...since they start living together in Japan...and maybe get married :p
