I rarely read a book twice. I don't even re-read my favorite books even though I really loved the stories. I don't know why I don't. Some books though I read again because I find the writing style and the pacing interesting like The Book Thief. I read it twice and now I want to read it again. xD

I read The Dark Tower series every year (started when there were only 3 of the 8 books out) and Lord of the Rings every 2 years or so and have been for over 15 years. I also have a few other books in my collection that get read every now and a again. I am also pretty much always rereading one of these and have read them so many times I have lost count
Robotech books
The Hobbit JRR Tolkien
The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker
The Decent by Jeff Long
The Cell by Stephen King
The Stand by Stephen King
HP Lovecraft collection
and the Conan short stories by Robert Howard

And I kind of make it a habit to read a book at least twice if I enjoyed it to see if I missed anything.

But seriously why wouldn't I read a book over? I rewatch movies, anime, and tv shows...

If you don't plan on reading a book more than once, don't even buy it. A good book will show you something new every time you flip it open and read it again.

It has to be a favorite of mine, but I can re-read a book many times over. A truly good one NEVER gets old. Most of the books I read are part of a series, and I usually find myself going back to my favorite of that particular series more often than any of the others. Either way, there is almost nothing I enjoy so much as revisiting a well drawn out story.

I wonder if you can argue that reading different Clive Cussler books is like reading the same novel? They all follow the same general storyline lol.

I actually read Bret Easton Ellis 'American Psycho' twice but many years ago. I don't think I could read a book twice now as these days I am more focused on career and family.

Seriously, there are some books I've read more than fifty times (yes, I said fifty: 50!)

I don't know why I have to read them so many times, it's something I just have to do. Like this book about vulcanos I got last year, I've read i over 30 times, it's in three pieces now. My grandmother have used duct tape to put it back together but the duct tape broke as well.
It probably has something to do with my Aspergers...

Every summer I re-read The Fountainhead. It was a birthday gift from someone special to me who is no longer with us. It's a fantastic book that always recharges my mental batteries.
