The first episode came out recently and after watching it I'm rather impressed. I love the animation style for this anime. The story reminds me of Zero no Tsukaima in a way in that the princess of a fantasy world summons Shinku who lives in an ordinary Japan in order to help them win a war against an invading country. The twist to the conflict is that the wars don't involve the armies killing each other but instead are fought through what seems like a mix of battles and obstacle courses. While the battles seem a bit silly they're kind of cool at the same time. I'm not sure how that aspect will turn out though but it could keep the story from being overdramatic or the way battles are fought could change down the line. The main character seems pretty likable so far as well as he seems to be more outgoing and athletic. Its hard to tell exactly where this anime will go but I think I'll definitely be sticking with this one.

'Character is all about exercise, and challenging him self... I like that about him.. The war is more like some Olympic challenge type thing.. Or a playground war. ' That is a good its a neat idea.. not new but neat.....

Other than that i was not very happy with the characters personalities. Nor the fact that all the main character is at this time some crazy competition nut and that is it, he has nothing else up in head other than exercising and competing..

I personally like it even though some times it is hard to figure out if one is a dog or a cat. It has a weird element that works to it. Plus they have the voice actor that does Takuto Tsunashi and the last episode of Star Driver made me cry and cheer at the same time. The last week of winter anime is always eventful.

I also have problems with recognizing if thats are cats or dogs in some scenes, but I like it so far. It my not be one of the best animes, but it was good enough for me and it was better than I expected it will be.

Really generic, I didn't particularly enjoy it, but it was ok...

Let me copy pasta m post from ANN.

So, here we have it, an anime and moeified version of Cat and Dogs. In this series we have two opposing groups, the Biscotti (dogs?) and Galette (cats?). Our protagonist is Shinku Izumi, is summoned to a new world that consists of the two groups above. Apparently, he is a very skilled athlete, he can leap off his balcony, perform a 360 flip, and manage to land on his feet. In Fronyald, this magical world of catgirls/boys and doggirls/boys, war isn't war. It's actually... spoiler[competitive athletic events.] Nothing really impresses me. I believe this anime is aim towards kids, but if you want to watch it for the cat/dog-girls, go ahead.

I don't like the main character...He's Perfect, way too perfect.

He's pretty much "look at me I'm awesome, and now I am in a world were I can show off how awesome I am."

I want him to fall flat on his face.

but other than wanting the hero to fail miserably on his first outing I don't mind the rest of it. The whole War of Cats and Dogs where no one dies or gets hurt gave me a chuckle. It such a nice pleasant little world full of cuteness and I don't mind that.

I'm just hoping the hero gets his ass kicked that's all.

I read the plot on ANN and I refuse to watch it from what I've read here and from the plot. It sounds like a blend of Blessing of the Campanella and The Familiar of Zero. I liked Zero enough, and Campanella was a harem anime with a story somewhere behind it. I'm not going to bother with this one.

my my some people instantly dismiss an anime simply because "it's been done" or "it's like (insert anime) but..." all without giving it a proper chance

i admit there has be a few anime i have dismissed based on the description but mainly its due to the lack of interest or i am disgusted at the desecrated view of some subjects that should be deemed "sacred"

there are two ways this series could go.
1) the hero is awesome all the way. Near the end he fails, is depressed for an episode, bounces back and is more awesome than ever.
2) hero fails right out the gate (IE Episode 2 is a complete disaster for him), realizes he's not all that, rest of the series is character building.

I am hoping for #2 because that will make for a more interesting show for me.
