Short Synopsis: Our lead character is a superhero who fights crime.
This season rocks. I mean, for one: only four series have premiered so far, and already we have two of them that features main characters that are older than 30. Heck, the lead of Tiger & Bunny actually has a daughter; when was the last time that we actually had such a series? On top of that, I love the concept of this series, as a kind of semi-satire on modern mass media that’s focused around a program that exploits superheroes, complete with sponsors and everything. The action is excellent, combining both great stunts and nice humour, and it just keeps changing dynamically due to all of the different characters involved. Characters who already have all kinds of charms. This can make for a very interesting series, especially if it is more than 13ep long.

A few edits off my ANN post.

Obviously created with the tastes of Western fans in mind...

I was thinking this the whole time I was watching. The Hero system is quite interesting, awarding points to those who capture criminals. Characters introduced so far are the heroes, and some of the business corporations the heroes are involved with. We have what seems like a variety of heroes, Wild Tiger being the "old fashion" spandex hero, and the others being upgraded with technology or more advance 'suits'. The suits are also have sponsor's names on them, such as Bandai, USTREAM, Pepsi NEX, etc. This is relevant because the heroes are supported by these companies. The heroes are also celebrities - they have their own show called Hero TV.

If you're a fan of superheroes then this anime will appeal to you.

this show strikes me as something that would probably sound more natural with an english dub...

Agreed, I believe it would do great on Western television.

I was in for a mecha show (from the description) but it seems more like mecha suits. This show doesn't appeal to me, but it was an enjoyable first episode. I'll probably try more and drop it later on, not because it's bad, but because I hold no interest in it yet.

The first episode was interesting. I'll wait till a few more come out to say whether it's good or not.

wow way to ruin the super hero image for me.... nothing like putting people in harms way just for some points and to advertise their sponsors

That is where the 30+ year old main character comes in. He is the old fashion type that believes in savings peoples lives, and does not really care about the point system or the sponsors.. He is just stuck playing their game do to the Capitalist pigs owning the rights to hero's.

just in the fact he is playing their game is enough to ruin it how do u place point values on innocent lives?

super hero ought to do it for the sake of helping not for points or sponsors but then again money is always the root of things isnt it

damn I was about to start this same thread. this show definitely has me interested. it was a great first episode you meet the heroes you see what they can do except for that one guy who just in the background. the main character isn't annoying he has real superhero values heck he even has a kid. trying to save people trying to arrest criminals trying to make a living and trying to be a good father all at the same time doesn't sound too easy to me. and now for some reason I want to drink a pepsi.

'I really wanna see the next episode bad.. the fact its not some little teen character in a leading role and the realistic spin on how Hero's would be used makes for a nice refreshing change.'

I've managed to catch two episodes of this now and I'm a big fan of superhero stuff.

This show is pretty interesting and really turns some of the ideals of american superheroes upside down. The whole Sponsor's thing reminds me of Captain Amazing from Mystery Men.

The main character is trying his best, the scene where he refuses to wait for Commercial Break before rushing in to stop a speeding train.

The message in the show is pretty clear though. True heroes, don't need the glitz and glamor, they just need to have a strong courageous heart that wants to protect others, and that is what our main character represents.

Eps 3 looks like it's going to give us some indepth on the other main character though and judging from the preview it looks like he's got a bit of Batman in him.

Bat man without the EMO personality with a goth style sense, and all that damn stinking money.

Im not a fan of superhero shows, anime etc but i found this anime to be very entertaining, compared to various other shows that i had, or am currently watching this anime is unique, I saw the second episode- i was a bit shocked with one particular(the slow motion scene), this anime may definitely be a hit in the US(with both anime fans and non anime fans)

'well episode 3 was ok.. but episode 4 might be really good.. The hot female Hero is planning on quitting.
What was with her attitude toward Tiger at the end of episode 3. from the first two episodes it did not look like they really know each-other out side of the work environment.
