i think this show is going to become very popular for it's season.. it's really good and the characters are quirky enough to hold your attention but are still really relatable.

i'm really enjoying it so far

I do love that crunchyroll got this great show, but it would be very unlikely for us to get a BluRay of it after the fact =(. How many airing shows on CR got official releases? I can only think of Durarara although I am sure there are more.

A lot of ecchi stuff. Since I rarely watch those I had no clue about it, you got me. Even still it supports the theory that Hanasaku may not since it is clean. We'll see!

I've just finished the second episode, and I gotta say that I'm liking what I'm seeing. It reminds me of the scenes from Spirited Away, not the whole movie mind you, just the part where the girl is learning to work and live in a setting that is quite similar, minus all the spirits of course. I'm looking forward to watching the rest of this show.

I'm enjoying what I'm seeing so far. Great production quality and the characters all have distinct personalities. I don't think the grandmother is going to be as terrible as some people think. Some old people just have this "tough love" mindset since they have lived though hard times. (Her age might suggest that she lived during the years immediately following WW2. A time that required great personal strength and a low tolerance for softness which wasn't beneficial for the process of rebuilding). That is obviously an approach that may not sit well with many people (myself included, were I in Ohana's situation) but may be the only way she knows how to bring up a strong child.

The other girl, I forget her name, that always tells people to die just needs a good bitch slap imo. She's obviously got her own problems (like being bad at her job) and should focus on not being a failure instead of taking her frustration out on others.

That said, I look forward to the character development and the impending failure of that dbag writer who will hopefully be put in his place next episode. =p

Damn brother, you just took words out of my mouth.

It's too early to call it the anime of the season, but it's a solid candidate so far to me.

ep 3 was a little different but well.. things like happen in japan, not really going to say it's bad or good it just happens. I have read some of those type of novels and there not illegal per say but well yeah i don't' want to go anywhere with that, but overall ep 3 was fantastic and i am wanting to see where it goes from here.

Ah, shit. Didn't notice this thread.

Well, I like the show so far. Some feel it is a bit far-fetched, but hey, it's an anime.

Of the stuff I've seen so far This one is the best. The art is good, the characters are excellent and the writing is well paced.

Her Mom and her Grandma seem like polar opposites. I think the Grandmother is judging Ohana based on her mother, which is natural considering they have never met before this. I got a sense that she really surprised the old woman at the end, that stepping forward like that is something her mother would never have done at that age.

Really eager to watch things develop.

Or the other way around... That could be just how her mother acted and why the grandmother disowned her in the first place.
Did you not listen to all the bad rumors the grandmother created about her own daughter. I see the grandmother as a old uptight bitch who has to have control over everyone and everything or she snaps.

I think the Grandmother is difficult but I don't think she's uptight, she just doesn't respect her daughter because her daughter never grew up. She is disappointed in her daughter and she is probably thinking Iroha is exactly the same and not worth wasting her time with, but after the first day she has realized Iroha is made of sterner stuff.

I like the Grandma personally.

Too many people slack off and don't give a damn about responsibility and they coast through life, in the end they only hurt themselves and others around them. Take Iroha's mother zipping off and leaving with her boyfriend. Yeah she "barely" made sure Iroha had a place to stay but she didn't make sure it was a good one and she ditched her for an undetermined amount of time. When you have a kid you have responsibility to make sure they grow up well in as safe a place as you can. Just my opinion.

p.s.
I would take the Grandma ANY day over the Mom.
I hope Iroha made her broccoli any time she was around for the rest of her life!
