No matter how hard I try, I can never figure this anime out.

So many questions I have...though they may just be tiny technicalities.

But my main question I would have from episode 17 is....how th ehellw as Feyris able to retain her memories from the other world line?

But other than that, if Okabe's goal is to redo all the D-mails previously sent, then why doesnt he send a message to his original self saying dont let anybody do D-mails?

From what i understand of D-mails, its that if its Jan 2 2010, at 10 AM and Okabe sends a D-mail in the past to Jan 1 2010 at 9 AM, then time when Okabe regains control will still be on Jan 2 2010 at 10 AM, however between Jan 1 2010 9 AM and Jan 2 2010 10AM will have changed, and he wont know what the changes are.

Crap, before I go on to my next point....I thought you could only send your memories in the past for 2 hours? But they did it for 48 hours...so I dont know anymore.

But anyways, apparently when you send your memories into the past...lets still say its Jan 2 2010 10 AM, and you send your memories back to Jan 1 2010 9 AM, Okabe will then regain control at Jan 1 2010 9 AM and be able to relive that time.

But then again, if I go with my original thought of why cant he just send a D-mail to his original self....then I guess that the time he would regain control would be exactly when he sent the message, however the world will have changed without him knowing what changed.

I really need to take 1 giant re run of this anime however Im too discouraged to do so

I read stuff about the VN and they explained it. The anime didn't explain it and it felt a bit rushed. I'll put it in spoilers.

Also, my earlier post was incorrect about the number of endings, there are 6 endings - one for each girl including the trap and the true end.

think man think what was the first d-mail that sent him from world a to world b.. what caused him to do something so drastic... just to alter the past so greatly... it happened in the first epiosde... don't think about it to hard it's a loop hole in the time machine... he is able to retian all of his memories no matter how many times he goes back re living the past, this is just like higurashi but on a smaller scale with the time. Instead of 2 years it's only 2 days.. but i think you get the message, now if who else would have to die or "suppsoly have to die" to save mayrui??

Not sure I understood your message, but Im pretty sure I got the part about the first episode he received some sort of message which started all of this yes.

And if I had to take a guess if anybody is going to have to die to save Mayuri, its gotta be Okabe.

no it's not okabe who died in the first half of epiose one, then appeared later at the end that person is the one that greatly altreted the time stream throwing him off.. in order to save mayrui this person needs or has to appear been killled..?

Sort of, I didn't get specifics but Reading;Steiners allows people to retain memories and Okabe has, lets say, a perfected version of it. THe others have... "defective" ones.

or christina.. lol but yes and no.. it was some one but I don't want to spoil anymore, that drastic change is what set it off, okabe sent a d-mail to himself to try to stop it and it worked.. but this is the cost... however this is one ending from the visual novel/source material there is no telling where they will go with the adpation, all we can do is just specualte and i hope this cleared some up for you.

Don't know if this was covered in spoilers, but...

According to Christina, someone's memories can only be sent 48 hours into the past. Any longer, and the difference between the original memories and new memories is too great a change. The reason Okabe has been traveling back two hours is so he can use the Time Leap Machine as soon as it's completed, giving him a full 50 hours to save Mayuri.
