Then Okabe's comment to Mayuri, "Get to the kitchen!" was funny. I thought of Arnold Schwarzenegger's voice when I heard that.

I'm pretty sure it's just you who thinks that. I even went back and listened to that line, and I have no fucking clue how you could think of Arnold Schwarzenegger listening to that.

I don't think that this will totally be the end for Mayuri for 2 reasons.

1. There was that scene in the very beginning that would indicate that some version of her in some timeline still exists. I know it's kind of fuzzy, but that scene couldn't have already happened in the past, so she must be around in the future.

2. Mayuri is voiced by Hanazawa Kana, who has been getting quite a lot of major parts even though she's only been voice acting for 5 years. Somehow I don't think they would end up giving her a part that only lasts for half of the series.

She has gotten quite popular lately hasn't she? I also agree that Mayuri will still play an integral part. First off, the show is about time travel; you can't write off anything. Second, even though there was the bit of psychological exposition in the beginning, no main character just dies without saying something before their death. Third, Kurisu kept mentioning that Mayuri was the one who probably understands things best about the lab and it's members and that should tell you something. Last, there is so much back-story that has not been elaborated on. From my perspective, movies might leave some explanations out, but in anime, they hardly ever exclude explaining someone's background. And it seems there is an abundance of things we don't know about. The relationship between Okarin and Mayuri being one of the most important parts yet to be expanded on.

I still think it's heavily implied that the remaining episodes are going to emphasise the fact that screwing with time is very bad for you.
Probably involving the fact that saving mayuri could have other effects (like i don't know... killing kurisu at the very start)..

In other words, prepare for episode 10 of Madoka being very similar to the second half of steins;gate.

I played the visual novel game last year on PC, so I know what's going on and what's gonna happen next lol... I'm not gonna spoil thou.

I don't really watch anime anymore but Steins;Gate is an exception. (like honestly, I hadnt watched one for about 3 years)

All I can tell you is that it will get really interesting in the second half of the season.

I'd nominate Steins;Gate for the best anime of the year. lol

Episode 13.

Ok I think I have finally figured out the whole D-mail and the Sending memories back into the past thing.

I am going to be saying "They wake up" whenever the new timeline has been created with changing the past with D-mails and sending memories into the past and when the anime starts up again.

Lets say Im Okabe Rintarou. Lets say its Tuesday 8 o clock at night. And I wish to send a D-mail back to Monday at 7 o clock. When I send that D mail, after I send the mail, the next time I wake up is at Monday 7 o clock. And thats when the rest of the anime will take place until I alter the past again. I basically get to relive my past

However If somebody else besides me sends a D-mail back in the past. Lets still say its Tuesday 8 o clock and the person wants to send it back to Monday 7 o clock. That person will send the message, however the time when EVERYBODY wakes up will still be Tuesday 8 o clock and the anime will continue from there. This is evident whenever somebody sent a message back in time who wasnt Okabe and we didnt get to see the anime starting from that point because it wasnt Okabe that sent it, and everybody wakes up at the time the message was sent.

Essentially Okabe didnt need the improvements to the D-mail that Makise Kurisu made in order to remember what happened in the present time when he wakes up in the past. That machine was simply for everybody else.

However when somebody DOES use that machine, like Daru for example, and he sends his memories back to Monday at 7 o clock from the present time which was Tuesday at 8 o clock, he will then be able to regain his memories from the present while he is living in the future.

So basically, if your not Okabe, the D-mails simply gave you a message, while if you are Okabe, the D-mails gave you a message but since your Okabe you also keep your memories. And if you send memories back to the past, it doesnt matter who you are, since it works fine.

Ok, now that I have that out of the way. I still need to figure out what happened to the rule of only being able to send messages/memories back 1 hour for every second on the microwave.

And now for episode 13. Well it seems that Mayushi keeps dying. Now I dont think she is stuck in some kind of loop though, because in each of the times she has died, it seems like it was humanly possible to prevent it. All Okabe has to do is protect Mayushi long enough past the normal times when she died in order for him to see that it is possible to save her.

And Nae-chan is officially the biggest Troll ever. Way to go girl, way to go : /

Edit: There are also some things which I dont understand with Okabe's actions. Why doesnt he get Makise Kurisu to change the machine to go farther back in time so he has a bigger window of opportunity?

Mayushi is clearly not needed. Therefore as long as he is not around her, bad things shouldnt happen to her. Obviously you still need her to not come back to the lab.

Copy pasta off my ANN post.

Episode 13

Wow.

Besides more lingering sadness from that episode... It turns out that

Why, why, why? I can't drink Dr. Pepper like this! Suzuha was badass. It was hard for me to watch the episode when I knew what was coming because of spoilers.

Can't recall but I have a question: The Phone Microwave worked without the television because it's using the LHD/LHC right now, correct?

SOMEWHAT MINOR SPOILER(S) HERE (unless you've read the VN)

Well, S;G came first technically, but since it's nitro+ on the writing... It kinda makes sense that they're similar in that respect.

Overall I think the episode was done well as usual. Except the "incidents" felt a little off, I mean... The car felt far too sudden and it was over very quickly, and then I can't see how

It just felt a bit awkward, in the direction as well.. The only time i've really felt critical during watching it so far.
Oh well, I still enjoyed it, and S;G's tendency to make 20mins feel like 5, and less so the AGONIZING wait for the next episode.

Not everything is perfect. Ever. - But with this show i tend to feel that when stuff seems strange or off, "it'll all make sense later". Or "that'll be explained just wait".

Should I be critical of that? or should I just accept it?

I guess...

Why does Ms. Tuturu have to........

The last scene(the train scene) in episode 13 was messed up, it also reminded me of Gantz
^Here I thought that the situation was resolved then bam that happened

More stuff from my ANN post, I actually thought of this now.

I actually remembered something, during that one scene where
Something fishy is going on... Moeka also keeps mentioning FB,

Some few weeks ago I had posted the Steins;Gate character page from the official site with the hopes that somebody might be able to translate it. I'll post it again because I'm quite interested in what the pages say about the characters.

A CRT is actually a type of monitor for televisions and computers, etc. (you know, the kind we had before everything turned flat ) "42 CRT" might be a clue to where some sort of hint is... in a 42" CRT TV, since all Mr. Braun really sells are CRT monitors (hence the shirt)

DISCUSSION ABOUT 13 AHEAD.... DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT ANY INFO (most spoilers left out though)

From the beginning episode and this episode, the most logical conclusion about death in the show is that someone's life can continue on a separate timeline. This is what happened with Makise Kurisu... Okarin saw her die but then experienced a time leap on to a new timeline in where she was still alive. In Episode 13, they go through the trouble to drill it into your head that Okarin ONLY sent his consciousness back to the SAME timeline, albeit with knowledge of the future, but he didn't make a time leap... so the only things that change are the result of his actions. With what happens in 13, it seems to prove that if someone's life "ends" on a specific timeline, there is nothing you can do to stop that event from occurring... you can only create a set of new circumstances that still will inevitably lead up to the "ending", just in a different scenario.

Since it seems like Okarin can send his consciousness back an unlimited amount of times, his best bet would be to actually discuss things with Kurisu and the members of his team. Even his initial assumption of taking Mayuri away with him (when he is the one that is dangerous for her to be near), is a bit silly... if not for the inevitable "same end" rule, his best bet would have been to let himself be captured by SERN and have previously sent Mayuri away with someone like Suzu-san since he now knows the "part-time warrior" isn't a lie.

I don't think Mayuri is beyond saving, but Okarin has to realize that repeating the same process and making those 3 hours into a groundhog day aren't the way. Considering that everytime a D-Mail has been sent, Okarin leaps into a new world/timeline, he would have a better bet of saving Mayuri if he sends a D-Mail back to himself or someone else to prompt him to do something to send Mayuri away earlier (even if it means she never meets the lab members). That way a new timeline is created and an actual time leap occurs again that totally alters the night of the party and the events that follow it.

Funi certainly know their stuff...

Back on topic.

I certainly want know more about Moeka Kiryuu's side of the story. The reason why we didn't realized that she's a SERN agent is because her presence isn't that big, or rather, she didn't have much character development over the past 12 episodes which our knowledge about her next to nothing
