Wow, one simulcast title blocked out of twelve, and its "don't get any decent shows". I could see someone from the Philippines or Uganda with a beef, but "Only 11 out of 12, I'm out of here" seems a bit "the glass is 1/12th empty" rather than "the glass is 11/12th full".

Sure, people in the UK don't get drama or Chinese live action films, but the answer to that would be "don't sign up for a drama membership", problem solved.

Yes the one decent show, that I want to see simucast. Everything else I couldn't care less about.

And I'd quite like to see the drama but can't, we don't have a choice.

We had crunchy roll why would we have wanted some over priced, invariably rubbish low quality garbage bag of a site instead, o well it can go the way of those anime dvd companies that tried to charge £20 for 3 episodes of anime when the pound was strong.

O well, sod the lot of them.

Wow the http://www.anime-on-demand.com/ site is amazing, it's like it's 2000AD all over again and even slower than a 52kbps modem, yeah I know where I'll be going from now on.

It doesn't seem to be overpriced. It looks to be around the same price as CR as far as I can tell. And, while I've not tried watching Tiger and Bunny to find out quality, it doesn't seem to be as slow as that. You just sound like your p***ed off because one show out of 12 is unavailable.

This seems is likely to be one of the ones licensed for the new AnimeOnDemand UK site.

I've streamed anime off of ANN before, and they have the same quality as Crunchyroll or Hulu ~ clearly better than YouTube.

If your less than chuffed that they are stealing series from Crunchyroll instead of focusing on the Hulu series that can't be seen in the UK ~ then wait until they announce Steins Gate, and rag them about it. Get on them like crust on bread, and if you have any mates in the UK who are anime fans, get them in on the act.

On the other hand:

then wait until its announced by VOD:UK and then sign up for a season pass. At least you'll have "one decent show", and cheaper than three months subscription to Crunchyroll. Plus you might like Tiger and Bunny, which is the Viz show streaming on Hulu that they have already announced.

that's an opening deal price, and sure about the same as CR for half the number of shows. And then if I wanted the one or two randoms I may want to watch on CR and the shows I may want to watch on AOD, I need to pay 2x as much.

And a 6 or 7 second load time between screens, not exactly great, and I can't actually find the trailers. oo found it.

And it looks like it's just ANN through a French portal. Low quality video >.<;; mmm compression.

And yeah I'm annoyed, I liked CR and was happy to pay.

O well I'm over being annoyed now. It's dinner time.

Line up is pretty kickass. Between CR and Netflix, mostly CR. I'm seeing less and less temptation to use illegal sources for my online anime.

Sorry, due to licensing limitations, blah blah blah...

*sigh*

Guess I'll be cancelling my subscription this season then, nothing decent for us Brits to watch... unless that last unannounced show ends up being C? (ohhh the irony if turns out it is, but yet again our money is not good enough for us to watch it)

i don't know if it's illegal or not but can't use a american proxy to watch some shows say like with fire fox or something? I mean i really don't know what to suggest to guys since that does suck and that's what I do when I travel around with my laptop.

Pretty sure that isn't legal.

For some reason these JP companies don't want their stuff streamed over there, or can't come to an agreement with CR or want to use another company at a later date. So if you want an explanation as to their reasoning... this is the logic used in the recent Fractale scandal... Remember... this is also the same anime producing country that said they have illegal file sharing over there under control, sure... and ordered funimation to do the same or they wouldn't get fractale back... so funimation caves, launches a lawsuit to appease them, they get their streaming back, drop the lawsuit, everyone is happy sitting around a campfire, and only 1 group stopped subbing fractale... and the only ones to lose revenue and respect that day were the fractale committee and funimation.

So yes is Japan probably losing money over not streaming these shows in the UK? Sure... but with the above thought process, does it really seem to matter to them?

Using Proxies or VPN are perfectly legal. Now whether or not that violates the TOS I'm not sure, but there are many Premuim members using VPNs to watch shows on CR. I'm sure you'll be ok. The only reason that CR probably didn't get Steins;Gate for the UK is most likely because a UK company decided to license it. The bigger companies get first dibs on the shows and CR gets to pick from what's left IIRC.

So... how do you cancel your membership?

Keep in mind when you cancel your membership, the effect is immediate. If you had two weeks left on a one month sub you had paid for, those two weeks go up in smoke. What you really want to do is cancel the renewal, not the membership. If you paid through PayPal, canceling a recurring payment is usually done there.

I would think if anything it's a TOS violation, never really read into it though since I've never had the issue of region restrictions.

Aren't there other companies in the UK doing sort of the same thing as CR? I remember reading something about that last season right around announcement time, which is usually when this issue gets brought up, that some other company similar to CR picked up some title that CR had as well, and that's why it was region locked on this site.

Also for those cancelling your membership... I ragequit CR a year or so ago for some reason or another and stupidly cancelled my membership instead of cancelling the renew... 3 days later I changed my mind and had to pay for a new membership entirely even though my old one had over a week left on it. So follow TheAncientOnes advice... if you change your mind at least cancelling the renew will give you the chance to do so with no money lost.

You should really upload anime wich is available in UK-I figure that you have lots of UK members, but still you simulcast an anime which is unavailable in UK. Now when I looked on how many shows you have I was amazed how many you've got , but then I couldn't watch half of them "due to licensing..." , and now you announce new anime, and we in the UK are like "Ye-hey there's a new cool anime, lets watch this", and next thing you know is BOOM .... "Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region." You catch the drift? ... It just destroys the CR awesomeness.
God help us all .

EDIT: It's not like im not greatful for all those other animes, it's just that always "one of the best shows aren't avaible here" like Code Geass or Naruto; why can't you make them available now??? It would be Huge if you could make some old shows available in UK. Why don't you try CR??

I was quite interested with that anime, glad to hear they will stream it here!
