*For Girls* Is it "gay" for guys to dress nice?
Posted 4/5/11
It depends:

If you were wearing pink at the time: they have a right to an opinion
If you were wearing a tight AND pink shirt at the time: they have a right to an opinion

If none of the above: Omg how stupid are they? Nothing wrong with making an effort.

I don't think it's camp to dress yourself well or take pride in your appearance, to think otherwise just seems ridiculous.

no. if boys know how they can show some respect for the clothes they wear it's most definitely not gay.

Debonair doesn't translate to homosexual

Not really IMO. but I don't usually like cute guys who really go out of their way to look like that. rather, i like the ones who are cute "naturally" (or at least I think they are. lol maybe they just try hard to get people to think that )

haw haw!

I'm not sure where you're from but I've seen too many boys wear pink shirts/t-shirts, people really need to refer to Carey Grant, he's the reason why hetrosexuals can get away with wearing pink! But it depends what shade. How bright was it?

I used to dress really nice...until I put on a few stone >.<

this is why women can pretty much wear anything and get away with it these fashion designers must be like hey will this look gay on a guy these designers target women mostly but hey what can we do...

I seriously don´t fuckin´care, what men wear and I don´t think wearing pink makes anybody gay. My father wore gay too, but if you would ask a few person they would propably call him a "nazi" instead of "gay", because he is bald (which he has to because of his allergic reaction towards different types of wheat and he feels more comfortable).

Well... As i see it, it is not the fact that you were wearing a pink shirt, neither was it because you dressed nice as everyone else seems to have concluded. And having ones shirt opened is actually kind of shabby.
I would actually say it's all of them combined. You connect stereotypical "girl colors" like pink, purple etc. with gays, but that doesn't lead you to the conclusion that he's gay, as you probably know a lot of mens is wearing those colors now a days.
And dressing nice is a prerequisite to being a man, homo or hetero alike. Or at least someone who've grown since their 16th year.
As i said above, having ones shirt opened up more than one button is either shabby or can be considered a gay thing.
Of course you also have to see on the environment, as people from poorer backgrounds, or people who is socially low, isn't used to see people dress nicely. Unless they're rich or gay.

I know this is a very, very simple setup. But i actually just wanted to get in with general point of view, as to widen the perspective of why you were perceived as being gay.

I myself am a heterosexual, but a lot of my friends are actually gay. And just for the fun of it, have actually been at a few gay parties with some of those friends. Of course i do not get laid at those parties, as i do not have an interest in men. xD
But my point is, that the stereotypical picture of a homosexual is not true. Although you can see it in the details. And that is MAYBE your answer. That a little detail might have made them think twice about your sexual preferences.

Hope this will help a little.

The only thing i have left to say is
Goodnight
and sleep tight
