Congrats. While this is a selfish statement, it would be cool if Japan thanked us by doing the following things that I know likely won't happen: allinteresting way Japan could thank CR is by offering to all members region-free (excluding censorship laws, all countries can see all shows on CR) and releasing on CR one of the most underrated anime that was ever released in America. I'm talking about every episode of the 2001 version of Cyborg 009 in both subbed and dubbed format uncut with good subtitles (the subs I saw were translated by a Chinese guy and was the worst fansubbing I have seen to date) since Sony USA never did that with the American DVD release while unfairly giving the most recent Astro Boy TV series a complete release in TV edited yet English only formatting.

You know.. I don't mean to.. I'll say it..

Japan, a first world country doesn't really need your aid.. your monehs will end up in the back pockets of some politician. They have plenty of money to rebuild. =|

How about everyone donates to the Red Cross? Raise a fund! And go for 100,000 better yet! ;D

Nice! It's good to see that this community can come together in times of need. Thanks to everyone that gave selflessly even though times are rough for everyone today, it seems.

We've decided to submit 100% of the proceeds to The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) in the next few days, who is aggregating all relief donations from the anime industry, and then submitting it to the Japanese Red Cross
.

Seriously, before you rant next time you might want to read the original post before you make yourself sound like a bloody buffoon.

$55,000 - Way to go CR Community!!! (that $5k part as the matching from CR corporate? - thank you CR).

Every bit will help those, even in a 1st world country, less fortunate and devastated by the earthquake and tsunami.

I'm glad so much money was raised, but not so thrilled about it going through another organisation before reaching the Red Cross. Is there a large advantage in not donating it to the Red Cross directly?
